It has come to our attention that buyers are rating us without reading how ebay defines each area of the Detailed Sellers Rating system that they have put into place - these ratings do directly impact the seller and buyers are not aware that this is not a survey they are filing out with their "opinion" ... but actually they are grading the seller and impacting how he/she is able to conduct business and how they can offer or not offer items at particular prices because of eligible discounts, visibility, etc... that they may no longer enjoy due to low seller ratings. Most sellers do rely on your truthful honest opinion based on facts of course. I hope you find this helpful.
Five stars is the highest rating, and one star is the lowest.
We strive for a five star rating but do understand if you have questions or concerns with your order. We include a detailed description of the item with measurements, size of stones, length, what it is made of, etc.... if you do not take the time to read our detailed sellers descriptions because of slow loading or do not understand what you are reading - then it is almost impossible for you to rate the item as item as described. We welcome any inquiries and try our very best to answer any and all questions you may have.
This is how ebay states to rate the seller - listed here on eBay.
| What you rate |
Tips for rating |
|
How accurate was the item description? |
|
|
How satisfied were you with the seller's communication? |
-
Recall if the seller addressed any questions or concerns that you had, and did so in a professional manner.
-
Consider only business days when evaluating the timeliness of the seller’s communication (sellers might not check email on weekends and holidays). |
|
How quickly did the seller ship the item? |
-
Rate the seller on the time it took to mail the item, not the time it took you to receive the item from the Post Office. (most sellers do not mail on weekends and holidays - bear this in mind when expecting your package)
-
Don’t hold sellers responsible for delays in mail services, international custom delays, or for the time it takes for your payment to clear since these are beyond the seller's control. |
|
How reasonable were the shipping and handling charges? |
-
Remember that sellers may charge for the cost of the actual packaging materials - envelope, bubble wrap, pouches/gift boxes etc...- along with a reasonable handling fee to cover the seller’s time and direct costs associated with shipping your item.
-
If the seller offered free shipping, you'll see a note indicating a 5-star rating is appropriate. |
We know that you may not be aware of the actual costs that go into packaging and processing of your order. On 80-85% of the orders ... we do not even have our shipping & handling costs met. But we know how important it is to include a gift box and/or pouch depending on cost of purchase and item purchased to properly store/present your item - even as the prices keep rising to purchase these items for you. So the "handling" part of your order is for us to be able to try to cover the additional cost beside the actual shipping as outlined below. We have tried to keep the shipping & handling costs low - between $3.95 - $4.95 per item. So on average ... the extra $1-2 handling charge included in the price of the shipping and handling charge is to try to cover part of these costs below.
-
Our envelopes/boxes cost 30 cents to $1.39 each depending on the size
-
The ring boxes, pendant & earring boxes, necklace boxes & bracelet boxes we include with your order cost us anywhere from 83 cents to $4.99 - most fall in between.
The cardboard gift boxes and/or pouches costs us between 50 cents on up to $1.29 each
Bubble Wrap is about 19-60 cents depending on number of items in your order
The actual shipping costs for small items is usually $2.36 - $3.84 .... this does include the delivery confirmation fee.
The final value fee eBay does now charge on the SHIPPING FEE we charge you the customer as well adds up when selling inexpensive items and becomes very costly - regardless if we issue you a refund, we do not get credit for that. For example: any item purchased in my eBay Store is charged an 11% fee on the shipping cost charged as well as on the item cost - so an item valued at $1.95 with $2.95 shipping handling has a 54 cent total final value fee.
So next time when rating your seller on the shipping & handling costs you paid compared to what it cost them in actual shipping & handling charges - please bear this in mind. Many costs are hidden and do add up very quickly as you can see.
When you have won a "reserve price auction" from us it costs us about $4.50-5.00 in ebay fees alone - yes, even for that item that was only $19.99 . The more expensive the item - the higher the fees. They can be quite expensive. On average, a seller is normally charged 12% fees on an item sold at a fixed price. These costs do add up ... so we ask that you be responsible in your bidding since all fees are not reimbursed if an error is made.
If you have bid on an item and do not any longer want the item - for whatever reason - please kindly retract your bid PRIOR to the AUCTION ending - link is below to retract your bid thru ebay:

925 - In the US, sterling silver is 0.925 pure silver (92.5%). It is assayed and hallmarked to show this. Different countries use different hallmarking systems. The remaining metals are 0.075 - and copper is usually the metal of choice. They use another metal to strengthen the silver since it is so pliable in it's pure form.
-
rhodium plated - most of our STERLING SILVER jewelry has been rhodium plated to provide protection from tarnishing and to give it that high polished “Platinum Look”. Rhodium belongs to the PLATINUM FAMILY precious metals - is very reflective and the most expensive metal there is. All 14k / 18k WHITE GOLD jewelry that you purchase has also been rhodiumed even though they do not tell you this. Rhodium does give the sterling silver a duller grey look then the shiny white/yellow porous look you are used to - it resembles an antique piece of platinum and goes perfect with your other fine jewelry. It will not need to be cleaned from oxidation like normal sterling silver does. Jewelry sold on HSN, QVC and your other shopping network shows call it by different names - platinum clad, platinum electroplated, etc.... Rhodium is also used over brass base metal to give it that super shiny polished reflective silvery finish.
-
ep - electroplated is a process used over alloy or brass base metals to coat the item with a gold or silver finish. Depending on how many mils of pure metal are used in the process - the item can last a very long time with proper care. The thicker the layer of gold, the less likely it is to wear away easily and expose the metal underneath.
-
gp - gold plated was once only used on heavy gold electroplated items but has since been used for any type of plating over brass/alloy metals. Like electroplating - depending on how many mils of pure metal are used in the process - the item can last a very long time with proper care. The thicker the layer of gold, the less likely it is to wear away easily and expose the metal underneath.
- G.F. - stands for Gold Filled Jewelry - a sheet of gold is applied to its surface. Items will normally contain markings that indicate how much and what type of gold was used in the layer. For Example: a marking of 1/20 10K G.F. means that the piece is at least 1/20th 10K gold by weight.
- vermeil - only used for a piece of jewelry that is made from a base of 925 sterling silver that is coated/plated on the surfaces with gold of at least 10K fineness and at least 2.5 microns thick (100/1,000,000 inch).
- alloy - mixed metals that are usually added to gold or used as a base in plated inexpensive fashion jewelry
- 10K - it contains 10 parts gold and 14 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 41.7% gold. It is is the minimum karat that can be called "gold" in the USA
- 12K - it contains 12 parts gold and 12 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 50% pure gold.
- 14K - it contains 14 parts gold and 10 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 58.3% pure gold.
- 18K - it contains 18 parts gold and 6 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 75% pure gold
- 24K - it is 24 parts gold = 100% pure gold
