DOMINOE KNOWLEDGE STARTS HERE.....
All the dominoes I sell are made of poly-vinyl resin. Very close to the composition of billiard balls. Unbreakable in normal game playing. Resin is a plastic type of material but much harder and more durable. The dominoes I sell today are the best I have been able to find. I constantly look for better products and when available, I buy them. You can call my Customer Service anytime to chat about dominoes.

The Double 6 Set has 28 tiles or dominoes. The Double 9 Set has 55 tiles. The Double 12 Set has 91 tiles. The Double 15 Set has 136 tiles. The Double 18 Set has 190 tiles.
There are many sizes of dominoe tiles. The three most popular sizes are Standard, Professional, and Jumbo or Tournament. Most Standard size are 1 inch wide by 2 inches long and anywhere from 1/4 inch thick to 5/16ths inch thick. Professional size is 1 X 2 X 3/8ths inch thick. Jumbo or Tournament size is 1 1/8th inch wide by 2 3/16ths inch long by 7/16ths inch thick. I have heard of Jumbo or Mega which is supposed to be 1/2 inch thick, but I have not seen any that thick. The thickness is desired for standing on their side to play or hold in the hand.
The "Spinner" is a brass tack or button in the middle of the tile. This feature is to raise the face of the tile or dominoe up off the surface of the table or playing surface. It helps to eliminate the scuffing of the dominoe on the table and erasing itself. It is a feature that is used in many countries where games are played in parks and outdoors. In Mexico and other coutries they play on park tables made of concrete or stone and the tiles loose their face quickly, so they invented the "spinner" feature. If you play on an uncovered table at home, the spinner could scratch the finish. I have many styles of dominoes and sets, so one without the spinner is availabe also. Nearly all dominoes are made in China today. There are maybe two US manufacturers, however their distribution is limited at best. There are some made in India or Pakistan also. They are of poor quality. The Chinese product is made in large quantities and is as good as I have found in 21 years of selling dominoes. The material is poly-vinyl resin and it will stand up to heavy usage. They are practically unbreakable and do not chip, split, or break with normal use. I have not had any breakage complaints in 21 years. Due to the way the Chinese distribute, they do not use Brand names like the US manufacturers. If a importer wants his name on the package they have to pay extra, so most just accept whatever design is on the factory package. The dominoes I am selling today are the best I have been able to find so far. I constantly look for better products and when available, I buy them. Hope this answers your question.
