We have teamed up with an Experienced Interior Decorator. This will bring you some fabulous ideas for our Patriotic product line. This decorator is also a wonderful detail oriented seamstress. Lets Get Started with what she has taught us.
My name is Misty. My husband and I are co-owner/operators of A Collectible 4 U. I thought, who better than me to take the time with her and see what she could teach. So, I invited her into my home. She brought very little with her which I thought was odd. I asked where all her wonderful Stars and Stripes supplies were. She said "they are here".
VIGNETTE DISPLAYS
She took everything off my fireplace mantle. She asked if I had any of the Patriotic Americana Home Decor that I have available in my Ebay store. Of course, I did. Then she got started. She walked around my home and took things from here and there. She started placing them on my mantle. This stuff was not Patriotic, but rather anything that was red, white, or blue. I reminded her that we teamed with her to help teach our customers see how to decorate Americana. She explained to me that we were creating a Vignette. The dictionary definition of Vignette is 'an ornamental design'.
Above, you will see some vignette's that we designed. They were all done on my mantle. They all represented the Americana Decor theme but also gave the option of sub-themes. Sailboats, lighthouses, teddy bears, motorcycles, just about anything can be added to your Americana home decor if it is done the right way and most importantly in the right colors.
You DO NOT need a fireplace mantle (as shown above in 2 of the displays) to put a Vignette together..... So read on!!!! It can be done with less Patriotic items. It can be done on a small or large shelf. It can also be done in a rocking chair or other chair (which we will show you). A window seat or on a covered box (which we will also teach) is also great. Just about anywhere that you have some room, it can be done in your Patriotic room.
TRADITIONAL OR PRIMITIVE???
There are 2 main color schemes to do Americana in. Traditional is your average Stars and Stripes primary shade of Red, White & Blue.
Primitive is a Burgundy shade of red, Off-white or Cream & Navy Blue You can stick with one or mix the 2 which we were shown in some of her Vignette's. I had always thought that it must be one or the other. She, though, displayed Americana beautifully using both styles.
