How do I turn
Litecube products on and off?
On most Litecube
products, a single push of the button produces a "heartbeat" pulse, a second
produces a fast blink, the third push turns it steadily on and a final one
turns it off.
The exception to
this rule are the "Rainbow" products, where each push of the button produces
a differing color effect or turns the effect off.
How
long do Litecubes last?
There is no
absolute definitive lifespan. Useful life will depend on how long the
cube(s) are on and how often they are used.
The short
answer is long enough for you to have lots and lots of fun with them. The
long answer is, well, complicated.
With
intermittent usage, any cube should get approximately between 25 and 35
hours of good light from the cube. After that they will dim down slowly, but
last for many more hours.
Some cubes use
power at a faster rate than others. Some will show very little decline for a
long period of time, others will show some reduction in brightness, reach a
plateau of still very serviceable light and then go on for hours and hours.
If, however,
you choose to use them steadily, they will certainly last through a social
event but their life span will not be as long. Generally speaking they
should last between 12 and 30 hours.
If you use
them in flashing or pulsing mode, this too will affect the life span.
Using your
Litecube intermittently and allowing it to "rest" between uses maximizes the
life of the lithium battery. Should you decide to freeze your Litecube
product, rest assured that the lithium battery within likes the cold and it
won't slow it down a bit!
Remember, ALL
Litecube products will easily get through any normal length event and with
the propensity of guests to take them home, we can almost guarantee that
they'll still be using their cubes (and remembering your event) for weeks
and months to come.
Why are
different colors different prices?
LiteCubes
differ in price based on how many LED bulbs and batteries they have. The
soft colors: red, orange and yellow only use 1 bulb and one battery. Premium
colors: pink, purple, blue, green and white use 2 batteries and 2 leds.
Color changing rainbow cubes use 3 leds and 2 batteries. The addition or
exclusion of these differing raw components affects the end price because
the more batteries/leds a cube has, the higher the cost.
Can the
battery be replaced in a Litecube?
The answer in
the case of Litecubes is unfortunately, no.
Because most
Litecube products are designed and FDA approved to be used in and around
food items and in liquids, the battery must be double sealed within the cube
and cannot be removed or recharged or replaced.
We strongly
urge customers considering the battery issue to avoid those illegal copies
of the cube which, while they may look identical, also offer replaceable
batteries. They are not the safe, dependable Litecube which has been built
to FDA standards.
Also, because
the cost of a replacement battery would be more than the Litecube itself, it
wouldn't be economically feasible for a customer to do so.
What
makes Litecubes glow?
Litecube products contain either one or two Lithium batteries that
powers either one or three small LED bulbs. They also contain a specially
designed non-toxic freezing gel designed to enhance and magnify the light
being emitted.
How should
I care for them?
We recommend
that Litecubes be hand washed with hot soapy water before and between uses.
Dishwasher use is not suggested.
Turn Litecubes
off between uses and store them out of direct sunlight. They may be stored
in the freezer if desired.
Are there
any outstanding safety issues I should be aware of?
As the
creators of this product, Litecubes worked very diligently in the design to
produce an item that could be used around food and drinks being consumed
SAFELY by humans and we are happy to report that our cube components have
passed FDA muster for such usage.
In the
extremely rare event of one breaking or cracking, please be aware that the
gel inside is non toxic, but you should discard the cube and the drink that
it was in immediately.
We will be
happy to send you testing and other health and safety documentation upon
request.
Litecubes are
not meant for use by children under 3 years old because they may pose a
choking hazard.
How
can I tell if I have a authentic, safe Litecube?
It is a sad
fact of life that a successful product is replicated, often by individuals
who have no concern for the health and safety of the end user of the
product.
By replicating
the Litecube design, it makes it difficult to detect false cubes at first
glance. However, if you turn an authentic Litecube product over, you should
see the "light bulb" logo on the bottom.
Litecubes
vigorously and aggressively defends its patent and copyrights worldwide. It
is illegal to sell or to purchase Litecube simulates.
