One of the Contraband Slaves was my Great-grandfather. Helped by the Cherokee Native Americans to his freedom at Fort Monroe in Virginia. They Freely Farm this Land under Frank Baker, James Townsend, and Shepard Mallory and General Benjamin Butler on May 22, 1864. We proudly farm on Shepard Mallory in Hampton Virginia.
