4/8/11- Shipping rates increased from $2.49 for the first item to $3.19 for the first item. The +$.25 per additional item will stay the same. This increase is due to Ebay's new policy of charging FVF (final value fee) on shipping. This policy hits low dollar items especially hard such as most of our auctions.
Also note, Ebay decided NOT to reimburse FVF's to sellers on refunds given for over payments on shipping. This change means that we must now charge $1 on each invoice after the first that we must manually combine and paid on multi invoices. We will still refund the rest of the overpayment ($1.94). In the past if multiple payments were made we would just refund the extra and eat the $.30 paypal transaction fee. With the new FVF on shipping policy we now are hit with an additional $.35 and obviously selling an Item for $1 and paying .65 in fees is a loosing deal for us.
Ebay is a great resource but shame on them for this stealth fee hike, presenting it as a good deal for sellers and then to not reimburse sellers fees to those who do the right thing by refunding extra shipping charged when items aren't combined properly at checkout. |
