Aunt Martha's Embroidery Transfers
Through the Years (1930-current)

It occurred to us that it might be useful for those interested in Aunt Martha's hot iron on transfers to be able to see and search through a listing of the embroidery transfer numbers & names produced by Aunt Martha's Studios over the years. Some transfer numbers have lasted from decades ago to now, some with the same transfer name, some having been renamed but substantially the same designs. Some designs have been renumbered as the years have passed and re-designed. Others have been retired from production, and not re-introduced under any alternative name or number. Because of all of these factors, the following list is not all inclusive - but is rather a developing work in progress.
As a general rule-of-thumb, those transfers in the numbered series 100-699 and the 9000's represent the earlier patterns with production runs potentially beginning in the mid to late 1940's. I say 'potentially', because a few of these transfer pattern numbers continue in production to this day!! The 3000 series began in the mid-1950's, with the majority of transfers produced today falling into this numbered series - although within the past year new transfers have entered production in a newly used 4000 number series.
The earliest Aunt Martha's transfers we have come across are in a portfolio booklet - pictured below - which probably dates from the mid to late 1930's. The included embroidery transfers were not produced using closed-line tracing, but are rather numo style patterns - i.e. made up of small closely spaced dots.   Later numo hot iron transfers were packaged in smaller 5¼ x 8 envelopes and had postage applied to the manufacturer's envelope for direct mail to customers.
There are also several patterns from what we believe were the 1950's which were branded under the Aunt Martha's name, but primarily promoted "for wood cutouts" (or what we would today call yard art) - although the ad copy for these items also listed the designs' potential uses "for a child's bedspread, for rumpus room curtains, other appropriate household linens or for other decorations".
Most of the embroidery transfers listed below have been available for sale at one time or another in Transfers from Pauli. If we don't currently have the item available, please keep checking back - as we are constantly searching for unused & uncut out-of-production/retired Aunt Martha's transfers to add to our store's inventory. (Although these older patterns can be very difficult to find in uncut condition & tend to go fast once listed for sale! We currently have many of these retired transfers in cut condition with their envelopes, but do not list them in our store because we don't actively advertise for sale anything in other than uncut condition).
