Installation Care:
Our depression style glass knobs and pulls are reproductions of original antiques. As tough as the originals, but they are real glass with all the beauty and fragility. Yes, they will break! Although they are not likely to break with normal use, care should be taken when installing not to overtighten the mounting bolts. This could create an immediate break or a pressure crack that would cause the item to break later on. Hand tightening until snug is sufficient to keep the piece in place nicely. When installed with a little care, you can expect many many years of beauty & service.
Mounting Hardware:
The standard mounting system for our reproduction depression glass knobs & pulls is the 2-1/2" long chrome plated panhead bolts/nuts that come with them. Brass Bolts are available for purchase separately also.  The bolt goes through the knob or pull, then through the hole(s) in your cabinetry extending inside the cabinet/drawer far enough to install the nut that holds it all together. If your cabinet doors or drawer fronts are very thick, Longer 3" Bolts may be required and are available in our ebay store. If the bolts extend far enough inside the door or drawer that it's bothersome, we also carry Shorter 2" Bolts also available in our ebay store.   If you're handy with a saw or bolt cutter, you can cut the bolts to your exact desired lenth. 

Other Mounting Options:
We also carry a two part ferrule & screw fitting for a more modern style flush inside mounting.   This sytem replaces the authentic style bolt without changing the outside appearance of the piece and does away with the "nut and bolt" protruding on the inside of the cabinetry. The ferrule comes with the appropriate length screw to fit standard 5/8" to 3/4" applications, but accepts any length standard 8-32 threaded knob machine screw like most modern cabinet knobs. Longer screws can be used for thicker applications. The head of the ferrule is approx 7/16" (ever-so-slightly larger than the original style bolt) and is 7/8" long. This is also a nice option when using the knobs on coat racks or window treatments.   The ferrules WILL FIT through all our Regular Stock Depression Glass Hardware knobs and pulls.  However, since the shank of the ferrule is larger in diameter (3/16") than the traditional bolt (1/8"), it may not fit through all glass knobs and pulls including our clearance items, our other styles of glass hardware and many vintage glass knobs & pulls.
