"Tips & Hints" for Protecting your Jewelry Collection

"You can extend the life and beauty of your Jewelry collection by following just a few simple guidelines"

1)."Put your Jewelry on LAST"...Perfumes and Hairspray are caustic and corrosive to your jewelry.  They dull their beauty and shine and a build up can make even the most expensive collect look drab.

2)."If you swim with it on YOU CAN LOSE IT"...Remove your Jewelry when going swimming, to the Jacuzzi (hot-tubbing) or even when bathing and showering.  The first few are obvious, but even your soaps, shampoos and water chemicals can be harmful to your Jewelry.

3)."If you wear it you need to CLEAN IT"...Just like you, Jewelry needs a little TLC at the end of the day too!  Before putting your Jewelry away for the night, give it a gentle rub-down with a soft cloth.  This will reduce and remove any build-ups accumulated throughout the day.  And yes, even your body oils are harmful to Jewelry.

4)."Proper Storage"...I know we all love our "Jewelry Boxes and Display Cases", but in truth, a plain old fashioned "Zip-Lock-Baggie" works best.  Air-tight is the key here!

5)."TARNISH . . . Ughh"....Unfortunately most Jewelry will tarnish over time.  New specialized coatings will help reduce tarnish, but wear and tear will make it inevitable. The best way to "Keep Tarnish at bay" is by following practical "Hints & Tips", which should include routine inspections and regular cleaning of your collection.  Also, air-tight storage is a real help against Tarnish.

Remember, you can keep your Jewelry looking as beautiful as the day you bought it (and last longer, too) by just following these simple steps. Besides, after all the precautions you've taken to keep your collection beautiful and safe, you don't want it all to be for not!
