Tools needed: Philips Screw Driver. Box to keep screws & stickers.
Screw removal:
Four screws usually attach the bezel that covers your screen. For aesthetic reasons, they are covered with a piece of tape (stickers) that is the same color as the plastic covers. They look like plastic -dot. Identify those pieces of tape (stickers) and remove them. Save those in box. Next remove the screws from the four corners.Use Philips screwdriver. Save those in box.
Bezel removal:
After the four screws have been removed, try splitting the screen bezel. Keep photo frame in mind. Laptop LCD co relates with photo. Do same as you do to take photo out from photo frame. Split the bezel using hand. If you feel bezel is glued be gentle. Remove bezel slowly step by step. Try to split slowly with little pressure. Some of Sony & Apple laptops are hard to open and most of times bezel is glued with hinges.
Remove Inverter & Screen:
Identify & remove the four screws in the four corners that hold the LCD with hinges. Use Philips screwdriver. Find the two thick (High Voltage) wires connector coming out from LCD and going to LCD inverter. (Inverter is small green chip - looks like transformer). Mostly those wires are coated with pink color plastic. So they are easy to identify. Those are LCD lamp connectors (CCFL connectors) unplug those lamp connectors from inverter. The last remaining connection is flex cable connection, which is bus running from motherboard to LCD.
Removing the flex cable:
This cable is responsible to fetch data to LCD. It is flex cable it might have 10 - 40 pin connector. Unplug this connector carefully using a flathead screwdriver and applying pressure gradually on both ends of the connector. Putting pressure only on one end of the connector can create a rotation motion that will bend the pins. The connector must be unplugged gradually from each end.
Installation of Replacement LCD:
To install the new screen, perform the previous steps in the opposite order.
