Shipping and Handling Policies
If you want your holiday purchases to arrive in time for Christmas please note the following PURCHASE cutoff dates for items delivered within the US by the Postal Service:
Parcel Post: Dec 15
First Class/Priority Mail: Dec 19
Express Mail: Dec 22
General Info Shipping Schedule Multiple Item Purchases US Shipping International Shipping Special Orders
BarkinWoofer tries to keep shipping and handling charges as low as possible, without marking up the price of the merchandise to compensate. Our US handling fees are small and cover only the cost of the packaging material required for safe shipping.
We normally ship within two business days of receiving cleared payment, Monday through Friday and usually Saturday, too. Normally, items purchased with cleared payment by 10 am Pacific Time on a business day are shipped the same day. It may take a bit longer during the busy holiday season. We will post our holiday shipping schedule and deadlines as those dates approach.
Ebay's calculated shipping process can calculate high when you purchase multiple (different) products. If you are only purchasing multiples of the same item, the calculation is probably correct. Feel free, though, to ask for a combined invoice PRIOR to paying and if shipping is too high we will send an adjusted invoice.
We will combine multiple purchases for you which may reduce your shipping expense. Please ask PRIOR to paying for a combined invoice. If you pay without asking and we notice that the shipping is too high we will issue a PayPal refund but if we are busy shipping orders it may get overlooked. A refund may not be issued in this instance once the package has shipped.
We ship most of our items using the US Postal Service (USPS). For large or heavy items we may offer United Parcel Service (UPS). If you prefer a shipping option or service not offered for your purchases, please ask PRIOR to paying and if we can we will send an updated invoice to include that option or service.
Most items offer the following shipping options:
- USPS Standard Flat Rate Shipping
First Class Mail (usually 2 to 4 days) if package is 13 ounces or less,
otherwise Parcel Post (usually 2 to 9 days)
- USPS Priority Mail (usually 2 or 3 days)
Less than 1 pound is a flat fee anywhere in US, over 1 pound fee is based on
weight and distance
All non-USA shipments incur a $2.00 handling charge (per shipment, not per item) to cover the extra paperwork, the trip to the Post Office (for most US shipments we can drop off packages locally), and packaging materials. If ordering multiple items please ask for an adjusted invoice PRIOR to paying as the handling charge may have been automatically added to each item by eBay.
We normally offer the following international shipping options:
- USPS First Class Mail International
Usually the least expensive option but the package cannot be insured.
- USPS Priority Mail International *
Faster and insurable but more expensive
* The USPS Priority Mail International
Flat Rate Envelope
option may be available (upon request) for smaller fairly flat items (many collars, mouse pads, towels, pet clothing, smaller harnesses, etc.).
This is usually available for several dollars less than regular
Priority Mail International so if
you prefer faster and/or insured shipping (than First Class offers), ask PRIOR to paying
and we will send you an updated invoice including this option if
feasible.
Other faster USPS mail options are available as is UPS International shipping upon request.
Many vendors will work with us for special orders for our customers. Some vendors have minimum order requirements ($50 or $100) making special orders difficult, since special orders tend to be small (one or two items).
Special orders will normally incur, in addition to normal shipping, a Special Order Fee to cover the fees the vendor charges us for shipping, handling, etc. Items available by special order only (such as our Mayan belts) will already have this fee included in the price and/or shipping fee. BarkinWoofer does not charge any fees for special orders other than those charged to us that we must pass on to you.
Most special orders will be shipped to BarkinWoofer and then shipped to you.
Note that special orders for international buyers will usually incur, in
addition to shipping, BOTH the International AND Special Order fees as noted above (sorry, but these fees help cover our extra costs, usually only in part).
