Q: Dear Bed-dr,

Hello, I just purchased a Cloud9 Bed in the past week or 10 days… Anyway I was thinking of getting my girlfriend a topper and was wondering if you sell just the cover as well... When I add the topper to her mattress it will be about the same thickness as my new Cloud9 Bed… So I was thinking it would be cool to have a cover like the one I have on my bed for her bed. That way she can take it off like a sheet and wash it. No zippers etc. Let me know when you get a chance. Thanks Bryan Bond

A: Hi Brian,

We do have those covers available. For a queen it would be 49.99 delivered. Let us know if you are interested. We will be adding them in our wholesale-memory-foam store this week. Thank you for your purchase!

Q: Hi there,

I know you have recommendations on your website, but could you tell me which

One you think we should get? My husband weighs 170, and I weigh 150. We

would like a topper that would make the bed softer and be able to "sink

into" a little. I would really appreciate your suggestion. Thank you very

much.

A: We would recommend a 4lb 2" if you are looking for added comfort or 4lb 3"

if you need extra pressure point relief. You will get all the benefits you

are looking for in either topper. The rest is personal preference. Both of these will make the bed softer able to "sink into" a little. Thank you for your

interest in our marvelous memory foam products!

R: Hi, thanks so much for the information. I think we're going to go with the 4

lb 2". Also, I just wanted to say your testimonials are very impressive!! I had a few cheaper memory foam toppers on my watch list, but you can't beat great testimonials with the amount of customers you have had! I will be doing business with you shortly.

Thanks, Jessica Bates

Q: Hey there wanted to ask a few questions on your product.

1. Can you clean the pillows if been soiled in anyway and what to do?

A: You can clean the pillows with a lint roller or vacuum cleaner. The best way to keep them clean is by purchasing a pillow cover. They are sold separately.

2. Can they be put in the washer and if so how does water affect it. water affects it regardless

A: We would not recommend placing them in the washer. The washing machine would more than likely rip or tear the foam. You can wash the pillow covers if you decide to purchase them.

3. Is there anyway one could be allergic to the material and are there any chemicals in it one should be aware of. My wife is very susceptible to these things

A: There are normally not any allergic reactions to visco-elastic memory foam. These memory foam products do not contain latex which is the culprit in most bedding allergies.

4. Are these pillows basically the tempurpedic Swedish Pillows?

A: These pillows are made using the same type of nasa developed technology.

5. Last question what kind of pillow should I purchase for an individual for sleeping on a bed who is around 5'6 115lbs? I am hoping to purchase at least 2 for a birthday present to my wife.  I also hope you will be able to answer all my questions and apologize for so many. I am not too familiar with this product. Thank you for your time.

Future Customer, Steven M

A: We would recommend the 4.3lb pillow for your wife.

Q: Can the pad be cut to fit the shape of the bed on my boat?

A: Hi, they can be cut easily with an electric knife, just spray a little silicone on the blades and it'll cut through it like butter. Thank you for your interest in our products!

Q: I have read your entire article and have a question about size/depth of mattress. I only weigh 125 but have been told by a number of people to go for the thickest mattress possible...according to your article you recommend only a two inch mattress for my weight. I have terrible hip pain from arthritis and I'm hoping this mattress may help. My thoughts ... if a little is good, a lot is better.

A: If you need extra pressure point relief then we would recommend the 4lb 3" topper for your situation. Thank you for your interest in our marvelous memory foam products!

Q: MY WIFE WEIGHS ABOUT 100 LBS AND I WEIGH 210 LBS. WHAT QUEEN SIZE MATTRESS WOULD YOU RECOMMEND?

TERRY

A: Hi, that would depend on your personal preferences. The 4lb in the 2" thickness would probably be our recommendation and would suit the two of you best. If you both prefer a super soft and plush sleep surface then we would recommend the 3.3lb in the 3" thickness. Thank you for your interest in our marvelous memory foam products!

Q: Hi.  I am looking at your product.  I wanted to find out what might be the best for someone with hip/lower back pain, weighs 165, and sleeps mostly on side and back.  Any help would be appreciated!

A: We would recommend the 4.3lb 3" topper for your weight range if you prefer a softer sleep surface and a 5.3lb 2" if you prefer a firmer sleep surface. Thank you for your interest in our marvelous memory foam products!

Q: I sleep on my side and my husband sleeps on his back and side. Does this affect the thickness? Which thickness would be better?

A: Hi, that would depend on your personal preference. If you prefer a firmer sleep surface then we would recommend a 2” topper, if you prefer a softer sleep surface or need extra pressure point relief we would recommend a 3” topper. If you are interested in a super soft sleep surface that you can sink into then we would recommend a 4” topper. It would also depend on your weight. Please read our recommendations page. Thank you.

Q: Dear bed-dr,

I have a friend who is having pressure sore problems, and another friend recommended a memory foam mattress pad for him. He has a gel pad and a one of those ring pads. He only weighs about 130 lbs, which would indicate that a 2" pad would be enough, but you mention pressure sore sufferers need a thicker layer. Your thoughts are appreciated--my friend has cancer and tends to lie in one spot due to pain.

A: Hi, we would probably recommend a 3.3lb 3” topper or a 4.3lb 2” or 3” topper. Either of these would help to relieve the pressure your friend is experiencing from being in one position much of the time. The 3.3 would be softer and the 4.3 would be slightly firmer. If they were lying as opposed to sitting the 3.3 may be slightly better for that weight range. Thank you for your interest in our marvelous memory foam products!

Q: Dear bed-dr,

Hi, do the 2" and 3" topper go under the fitted sheet, with the purchase of pad + cover is the shipping reduced.

A: Hi, the two inch pads usually will fit under regular fitted sheets depending on the depth of your mattress, for the 3" pads you would probably need deep fitted or deep pocket sheets up to 15" deep. You can usually find deep fitted or deep pocket sheets at Sears or JC Penny on sale. The shipping is free on all items on our website. Thank you for you interest in our marvelous memory foam products!

Q: Hello,

I found your website to be very informative - thank you.

We are considering the purchase of a mattress pad.  We currently have a very expensive, and very firm King sized mattress.  My husband has had back surgery (many years ago) and neither of us is as young as we used to be ;-)

Our weights are 220lbs, and 135lbs.

Please let me know what weights and thickness you would recommend.

Warmest regards,

Donna

A: Hi, if you prefer a softer sleep surface we would recommend a 4lb 3" topper, for a slightly firmer sleep surface we would recommend the 5.3 2" toppers for your weight ranges. Thank you for your interest in our marvelous memory foam products!

Q: I am looking at your foam mattress pads for my parents. They need something soft for my dads back.  He has a very bad back.  I was looking at the 3" 5.3 lb pad, but looking at your recommendations maybe a 2", or even a 2" with a 4lb pad.  They each are less than 200 pounds.  I just want to get them the better one.  Right now they have 2 "eggshell" pads from Wal-Mart, and they are just not cutting it.  Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

Steven

A: Hi, we would recommend the 4.3lb 3” for the extra pressure point relief it sounds like your parents need. If they weigh less than 200lbs and are just looking for added comfort then we would recommend the 4.3lb 2” topper. Thank you for your interest in our marvelous memory foam products!

Q: Dear bed-dr,

My son is 16 years old. He is 165 lbs. He is very athletic.  He is away at school and is sleeping on a twin bunk bed.  He is complaining of a hard and uncomfortable mattress.  I really don't want to spend any more money (his school expenses are unbelievable), but I will consider your recommendation.  I like your informational approach to this product far more than anyone else listed.  Thank you. R. Farro

A: Hi, we would recommend a 4.3lb 2” topper. It would save you money and make his school mattress much softer and more comfortable to sleep on. That way he can stay awake during class instead of tossing and turning all night in bed. Thank you for your interest in our marvelous memory foam products!

Q: Dear bed-dr,

When I was looking for a mattress pad, I did not realize that there were so many density and thickness variations for sale. I am interested in purchasing this for my son who is slight of build (less than 150 lbs) has many bony prominences, and is often uncomfortable in his bed. Would you recommend a specific density/thickness for him?

A: Hi, we would recommend a 4.3lb 2” topper for someone in his weight range. For extra pressure point relief the 3” would be a good option. Thank you for your interest in our marvelous memory foam toppers.

Q: Hello,

I am looking to buy a king size and a queen size foam mattress pad. I

weigh 193lbs and my wife weighs 120lbs. Which pad would you recommend? We

are used to sleeping on the Sealy Postrupedic Firm bed. My son weighs

about 60lbs and would like him to get used to sleeping on a firmer bed.

Appreciate your response. What is your return/exchange policy if the

product I buy is not comfortable enough (not a defect but due to

discomfort able firmness).

Thanks,

Venkat

A: Hi, we would recommend a 5.3lb 2” topper for you and your wife if you prefer a firmer sleep surface. For your son we would recommend a 4.3lb 2” topper because of his weight range. For him the 4.3lb will be firmer than it would be for you because the more a person weighs the more they will compress the foam and that means the foam will feel softer. For a person that is lighter the foam will feel firmer. Our return policy is located on our policies page.

Thank you for your interest in our marvelous memory foam products!

R: Hello,

Thanks for the prompt reply. One more question, which pillows would you

recommend. My wife uses a Novafoam (from Costco) pillow and I like soft

pillows. It seems like my son likes a little firmer pillow.

Thanks,

Venkat.

A2: Hi, we would recommend a 4.3lb pillow for you and your son. Since you are bigger the 4.3lb Cloud9 memory foam pillow would be softer for you. The same 4.3lb Cloud9 memory foam pillow would be firmer for your son because he is smaller. Thank you for your interest in our marvelous memory foam products!

Q: Dear bed-dr,

Hi, what is the FIRMEST 2" topper you sell?

A: The firmest topper would be our Cloud9 5.3lb density with a 13ILD rating. This is slightly softer than the nationally advertised brand but firmer than our 4.3lb and 3.3lb density toppers with a 10ILD rating. The higher the ILD or IFD rating the firmer the topper will be. Thank you for your interest in our marvelous memory foam products!

R: Dear bed-dr,

Second question:  Is there any flame retardant on your mattresses?  Thanks

A2: Hi, our memory foam products do not contain any PBDE or flame retardants. Thank you for your interest in our marvelous memory foam products!

Q: Hi, Bed Dr -- I am considering buying a foam mattress pad for my son's bed.  He is a big guy, six feet, probably 250 lbs.  The mattress is full sized.  Would the best pad be 3 inch, 4 lb?

I'm also interested in a mattress cover.  Do the ones you sell cover just the pad?  Or would they cover both the pad and mattress (I assume there are elastic side panels).

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Liz Flaherty

A: Hi, we would recommend a 5.3lb 3 inch topper. The 4.3lb topper would be too soft for your son at his weight range. The more a person weighs the softer the memory foam will feel and that is why we would recommend the 5.3lb density for your son. The topper cover completely encapsulates the memory foam topper. You just roll it up inside out and then roll it on. It is zippered on one end and you just zip it closed. It will protect your mattress pad and keep it clean for years to come. Thank you for your interest in our Cloud9 memory foam products!

Q: Dear bed-dr,

I note that your personal preference is for a 2" 4.3lb lb mattress topper.

I have lower back pain problems and my weight is 185 lbs and always thought that a 3" 5 lb topper would be best for my condition, and I believe these are the dimensions also used by Tempurpedic. Please advise.

A: Hi, the mattress topper that is best for you would depend on your personal preferences. You may like a 5.3lb 2 inch topper better than a 5.3lb 3 inch topper if you prefer a slightly firmer sleep surface. For your weight range we have found that a 2 inch topper is sufficient if you are looking for added comfort and support. For extra pressure point relief we would recommend a 3 inch topper. Most people are happy regardless of which density or thickness they purchase. If you feel like you need a slightly firmer sleep surface then we would recommend the 5.3lb visco-elastic memory foam material instead of the 4.3lb visco-elastic memory foam. Thank you for your interest in our marvelous memory foam products!

Q: I am just wondering, do sell foundations for your King mattresses, and how much do they run?  What is the main difference between regular box springs and the foundations for these kinds of mattresses?

A: Hi, we offer premium wood framed foundations with a terry jacquard cover. They don't flex like a box springs which can void the warranty because it causes stress on the foam. These mattresses are also better with a firm flat foundation. Thank you for your interest in our marvelous memory foam mattresses!

Q: I was wondering about your weight recommendations. If two

people (weighing about 170 EACH) are going to get this pad,

what do you recommend? I wasn't sure because it said

weight recommendations for a 200lb. person and I wasn't

sure about two people on one bed. We are looking at the 3" -

5.3lb pad. Thanks!

A: Hi, that recommendation is based on the weight “per individual”, not the combined weight of both people. Thank you for your interest in our marvelous memory foam products!

Q: Hi, I just wanted to clarify, you recommended that if you are under 200lbs a 2'' 4lb mattress is better. Does that still apply if there are two people sleeping on it who are both individually under 200lbs or is it 200lbs total? Thanks

A: Hi, that recommendation is based on the weight “per individual”, not the combined weight of both people. Thank you for your interest in our marvelous memory foam products!

Q: My girlfriend needs something like this, she's always saying how she can't sleep good and her neck/back hurts her.  Will this help that, honestly?  Do you think it would be better than getting a featherbed topper?  Not too familiar with all of this stuff, I sleep fine being the tired man I am in the evening.  Also, is this better than most brands in the stores that are 950 bucks?

Thanks a lot, please respond quick.

A: Hi, this really will help when there are problems like pressure points which cause back and neck pain. This would be far better than a feather bed topper which will flatten about in about a week. We carry the best 100% visco-elastic memory foam. We have the same material you see in the stores with a lot more options. Ours are more affordable too. If you or someone you know needs a good nights sleep and you would like to save some money then you have come to the right place!

Q: I had read that if you sleep on your side, the 3" or 4" Memory Foam was

the best.  I weigh 115lbs and sleep on my side mostly, at times on my back.   What's your input on this?  Thanks!  Sarah Johnson

A: Hi, we usually recommend that if you weigh less than 200lbs that you get a 2 inch visco elastic topper. If you feel like you need extra pressure point relief then we recommend a 3 inch topper. This is regardless of whether you sleep on your side or your back. At your weight range there really is no need to go over 3 inches in depth. Thank you for your interest in our marvelous memory foam products!

Q: I am seriously considering purchasing a mattress topper from your company, but need to decide the thickness and the density.  Here are some facts that I hope will help you give me some advice.

My husband weighs between 225-235#.  I weigh 180#.  We currently have a very excellent innerspring mattress so we don't have any problems with backaches etc.  However, I find myself tossing and turning all night, and I think that I would sleep much better if I had one of your toppers.

We recently stayed two nights at the Altoona, PA, Courtyard Marriott.  They had

the most comfortable mattresses I've ever slept on.  I found out that they are Serta mattresses.  I looked up Serta on the web, and their mattresses are innerspring with visco-elastic.  It would seem that if I put one of your toppers on my current excellent innerspring mattress, I might be able to obtain the same comfort that the Marriott mattress gave.

I gather from your web site, that according to your guidelines, we should purchase a 3" topper.  Now I just need to decide between the 4.3 and the 5.3 density. Do you know enough about the Serta product to recommend the equivalent in your product. I would love to sleep on Cloud 9!!

Carol E.

A: Hi, the large mattress manufacturers use the same visco-elastic memory foam products we do when they are making their mattresses. Because of your husbands weight being over 220lbs you will need to get the 5.3lb density and you are correct when you choose the 3 inch depth based on our recommendations. Thank you for your interest in our marvelous memory foam products!
