WHAT IS THE PBR?
PROFESSIONAL BULL RIDERS
A sport, where the Man and the Bull are both Professional athletes.
The PBR was founded in 1992. But Bull riding has been going on since frontier times and before.
Now it’s the up and coming professional sport. It has over 800 competitors from the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil and Australia.
The current Champion for 1996 is Adriano Moraes from Brazil. He is the first man in PBR history to win three World Championships.
This year (2007) Justin McBride leads the way to the National Finals. Justin breaks a PBR record in 2007, by winning his seventh regular season event in Dallas, Texas. The previous record was six, held by Cody Hart in 1999. Justin was the World Champion Bull Rider in 2005.
The PBR has grown to include four tours which collectively stage over 100 events a year. Prize money has gone from $250,000 in 1994 to over $10 million in 2006.
These athletes (Bull and Man) come in many shapes and sizes. The Men train in a variety of ways from riding at home on the ranch, to having a personal trainer. The Stock contractors that own the Bulls have their own breeding programs, feeding, training and health care programs.
The PBR and its members fully understand the value and importance of the bulls used in each PBR competition. Therefore, the care and treatment of PBR bulls is a top priority to those who own, govern and/or participate in the PBR events.
It is out of respect for the Man and Bull and their abilities as the greatest of Athletes that we add PBR collectibles to our Jewelry and accessory line at Crazy Horse Industries.net
