What are "FULL or WIDE Screen DVDs?" There are two common TV screen shapes, the squarish shape of conventional TVs and the widescreen shape of today's flat screen HDTVs. Conventional TVs have a 4:3 aspect ratio known as "standard screen" or "full screen" and widescreen HDTVs have a 16:9 ratio similar to a movie screen ratio. Full and Wide screen dvds display equally well on either TV screen shape.
