We specialize in aquatic and fruit & berry plants. We offer a large selection of named variety hardy and tropical water lilies; lotus; marginal; rabbiteye blueberry; thornless blackberry; muscadine; and fig plants. Other landscape plants on occasion. Wholesale and near wholesale prices.

We are inspected, certified and licensed by the State of Alabama and the Alabama Department of Agriculture.

We are members of the International Waterlily and Watergardening Society, Water Gardeners International and the Central Alabama Koi and Water Garden Society.

We are a small mom and pop, primarily wholesale hobby business.  We operate from our home and don't have a retail store.  We sell to area pond builders and nurseries as well as on ebay.

I have about 78 varieties of hardy waterlilies; about 60 varieties of day and night blooming tropical waterlilies; about 60 varieties of lotus, including bowl lotus and others imported from China; and, well over 100 varieties of hardy and tropical marginals, floating and submerged plants.  I do propagate some landscape plants and I am getting into raising Japanese Maples to sell locally.  My husband raises 6 varieties of rabbiteye blueberries; 4 varieties of thornless blackberries; 6 varieties of muscadines; and, 2 varieties of figs.

After over 20 years of breeding and exhibiting animals, I burned out on the politics, travel and responsibility of caring for lots of animals.  By this time, my kids were grown and I was looking for something to do with my time.  I decided to work on the yard, creating landscape beds, paths, decks and secret gardens.

I wanted more!

I had seen several shows on HGTV about water gardens and decided that I wanted one.  After lots and lots and lots of research, which proved to be very confusing, because there were so many "right" ways to build a water garden, I decided it was time to take the plunge.  My husband agreed to dig and concrete my first pond as one of my christmas gifts over 10 years ago.  I finished the rock edge, waterfall and landscaping and got my first pond going the following spring.

I can honestly say that there is nothing more stress relieving; relaxing; enjoyable; and, satisfying than a pond or some type of water feature in your own backyard.  The soothing sound of moving water; fish swimming gracefully; waterlilies, lotus and marginals in bloom; dragonflies, frogs and other wildlife making themselves at home in your little paradise.

Of course, once I had one, I wanted more.  I dug and finished another pond in my secret garden and started building raised container ponds on every deck, porch or anywhere else I thought one would fit.

I found myself wanting first one variety and then another of hardy waterlilies and marginals.  Back then, pond plants were almost impossible to find locally and very expensive to buy, even through mailorder businesses.  Over time, I managed to build a considerable collection of hardy lilies, marginals and one lotus.  Because I can't stand to throw anything away, I found myself with large numbers of extras from the regular division of plants.  I started building holding tanks just for the extras.  I decided to start selling the extras to help pay for my addiction - I mean hobby.

About the time I was getting my business started, the business my husband had worked for for 23 years went bankrupt.  He found a new job within 3 weeks but it meant moving, after over 20 years at the same address.

Our new property proved to be considerably more workable for our hobby/business.  We have more land that is more usable for ponds, gardens, grow tanks, greenhouses and the orchard.  The orchard is where my husband grows his rabbiteye blueberry, thornless blackberry, muscadine and fig mother plants that he uses for cuttings.  He roots these cuttings by mist propagation in the greenhouse.  He then pots up the rooted starts and grows them out, til ready to sell.  He does this as time permits, working a full time regular job with lots of overtime.

My collection of aquatic plants has grown considerably, since relocating.  I finally got up the courage to try tropical waterlilies and found them to be quite easy to grow and keep. I added more varieties of hardy lilies and lots more lotus.  My marginal collection grew too.

I keep having to build more ponds and holding tanks for all the plants.  My pride is the 13,650 gallon 27'x44' pond that my husband and I dug with shovels and a wheelbarrow.  He helped me install the underliner and the liner that weighed over 700 lbs, then I took over.  I created a gravel bog within one end of the pond where 2 skimmer boxes reside with numerous marginal plants.  A flat plank bridge crosses the middle with low voltage lights selectively mounted for a pleasing view of various pond features at night.  There is a waterfall in the upper corner for looks, sound and circulation.  The pond and the landscaping around it continues to develop.  This pond was constructed primarily for holding/growing many of my waterlily mother plants and numerous marginals.  We do have lots of koi and mosquito fish in this pond.  Our largest and oldest koi, Angel, is approximately 2 feet long.

Since relocating in 2001, we have settled into our new home and continue to work on the ponds and gardens.  We enjoy sharing our love of ponds and plants with so many people and look forward to sharing them with even more of you.  Please feel free to ask questions, not just about the plants we are selling, and we will try to answer all that we can.  We love to help.  Please do understand though, that I am pretty much the lone operator of this hobby/business and give me some time to answer.  As I said, my husband works a full time job with lots of overtime.  My kids don't live close enough to help and I don't have hired help.

We wish you love, happiness and success in your pond and garden endeavors.
