This is a shot of the beautiful Blackfoot river during Salmon fly season.
My strength as a guide. I have been an addicted flyfisherman since I was 9 years old. I have traveled all over the northern U.S. and Canada on fishing expeditions. From the spring creeks of PA. to the mountain rivers of Montana You will have a very hard time finding someone with as much experience as I have.
A day on the river with me. I love dry fly fishing, many of my regular clients dont even want to hear the word nymph. With that said I also do what ever it takes with the other half of my fisherman. My goal each day is to try and catch one or several of the days hatches at a particular stretch of river and at a given time. Sometimes I like to meet very early and get down river to a particular run for a great trico spinner fall. Other times I like to start later in the day and stay till dark (10:30 pm) to try and catch a caddis, pale evening dun, rusty spinner fall event. If you have never experience one of these from 8-10 pm in June or July you havent lived.
I am a very patient guide yet I do have an intesity that shows up when the fishing gets good. I tend to work harder than most guides often extending a day if the fishing had been slow most of the day.
Lunch? You can have a nice hot grilled lunch riverside or we can have a nice deli sandwhich with some side salads and get back to fishing. Some I my fisherman like to take a good solid break and have a very nice grilled lunch while others are stuffing down a sandwhich and trying to cast at the same time. You tell me. I am happy to go either way.
I am easy going, not intimidating, I have had some clients that have been reluctant to go on a guided trip due to bad experiences in the past. I am not one of those guides nor will I hire one. With me you can expect a wonderful float down the river with as much or as little instruction as you want. I have been doing this long enough to know that it needs to be enjoyable.
