I started making Beaded Christmas tree ornaments back in the 70's from the readily available kits. I still have most of them today.
The Satin Ornaments I make today bring me so much joy. My designs are original, not made from kits. Most of my styrofoam satin wrapped balls are from the 1970's and 1980's. I find them at flea markets, antique shops and of course, on eBay. They are very hard to find.
I have made hundreds, given them to family and friends. I love to create a new ornament for a Baby's first Christmas. These are greatly appreciated, especially when I give them at showers.
All my friends' children have been getting married these last few years and I like to make an ornament or two using the Bride's colors for their first Christmas together.
I have collected beads, ribbons, sequins, ornate trims and have ALL THE BEADS AND BAUBLES IN THE WORLD, so says my husband.............
I am hand stringing pearls, gold, silver and white because I can't find what I want. It's fun and I can do it in front of the TV. Besides, that makes my ornaments MORE hand-made and one of a kind.
