Frequently Asked Questions
How do you determine a books condition? We use the IOBA (Independent Online Booksellers Association) definitions. Like everything in this world condition is in the eye of the beholder. Our view is our view and it is the best we can do. We guarantee our descriptions to be accurate.
How do you know if the author's signature is authentic? In many cases we don't know. We buy books from reliable sources and have been assured the book was signed by the author. In some cases we personally witnessed the signature and will note that in the description.
What is a book club edition? The text of the novel is the same as a first edition. The book is usually smaller in size than a first edition. For example, a first edition, is approximately 9 1/2" x 6 1/2" and a book club edition is approximately 8 1/2" x 5 1/2". The book club edition is a hardcover book with a dust jacket. The dust jacket does not have a price on the inside corner of the flap. The book will not have a number line on the credit page indicating the printing edition. Book club editions are excellent reading copies and make good gift items. They are usually not for serious book collectors that collect first editions and first printings. See our guide on identifying BCE books for more detail and sample picture examples.
Is the picture in the listing a stock photograph? In most cases it is the actual picture of the item or book. We rarely use a stock photograph because we think that is misleading. Using the actual picture of the book or item allows you to see any flaws that may exist. Conversely, it allows you to see the excellent condition of the book or item. Should you find one of our listings with a stock photograph please let us know and we will promptly replace it.
Will you combine shipping? Yes for most items and for all books. Combined shipping for books - pay the highest shipping charge for any book selected and each additional book is $1.00. For merchandise with a shipping calculator the shipping charge is based on the total weight. In every instance the combined shipping charge will be less than the sum of the individual items. All items should be paid for at the same time and eBay should combine them automatically. If not please wait for an invoice before paying. No combined shipping on internationl purchases.
Will you ship internationally? Yes. If you're country is not listed please send us a request and we will add the country that you need to the listing. Please note we do not combine shipping on international purchases; we require PayPal only as the payment method. International buyers are responsible for all tariffs, taxes and import duties that may apply.
What is your feedback policy? We leave positive feedback for all buyers after payment is received. In the unlikely event that you have a problem with our merchandise, payment, or shipping, please give us a chance to make you happy before leaving feedback.
What does FPT mean on the DJ flap next to the price? FPT = Freight Pass Through. Which means the price includes shipping.
What are your terms of sale? By winning the bid on one of our auctions or buying an item with a Buy-It-Now price you agree to contact us within 3 days of the end of the auction or to remit payment within 10 days of the end of the auction otherwise the sale is cancelled by mutual agreement and we may apply to eBay for a refund of the transaction fees and relist the item for sale..
