The Russian Post is implementing a new procedure for inbound international mail for May 2013. The steps are being taken because of an increase in mail flows to the Russian Federation in March and April and the resulting “excessive load” on the main international offices of exchange.
The following operating procedure will be in effect through May 31, 2013:
- Mail should be forwarded on regular passenger flights only.
- Mail forwarded through regular cargo and charter flights requires prior authorization by Russian Post representatives.
