Scottish Tartan Stocking
I both lined & backed the stocking using a 100% wool scarf made out of the Wilson tartan that I had gotten from Scotland . . . I then used the fringes from one end of the scarf to make a tassel that I attached next to the hanging loop. (The hanging loop is also made out of the scarf!) Finally, I put three tack pins that I got from Scotland at the very top. The pin on the left is a small flag of the Lion Rampant and a small Scottish Saltire flag. In the center is a pin with a thistle on it that says "Scotland" at the top and on the right is another flag pin with the Scottish Saltire flag and a flag with a thistle.
I can't tell you how pleased I am with the finished product! (So is my husband!). I'll be keeping this out year-round, not just at Christmas time as it's so beautiful!

"To a Violet Bookmark" takes 1st Place
I just thought I would let you know how much I appreciate your great service when I ordered the Violet Bookmark kit on eBay recently. It came quickly and I started to work on it right away in order to enter it into competition at our African Violet and Gesneriad Society show this past weekend . . As you can see, it got the first award, and after I took the photo, they placed the best in class award on the table . . . So thanks again for a great design and helping me win a blue ribbon! As I sometimes say in our club, I can't always grow the violets but I can sew them!
