General Questions

What are your current hours of operation?

How long does it take to process my order?

eBay orders are usually processed within one business day of receiving cleared payment. We do not ship on Saturday, Sunday or Holidays. Processing times may be longer during peak periods.

What is your return policy?

Cameta Camera is proud to offer a 30 day return or exchange policy on most items. We will offer a full refund (excluding shipping charges) or exchange for qualifying items returned within 30 days of the order date.

All returns must be pre-authorized through our Customer Service Department, and must be sent back to us in exactly the same condition as you received it. All items must be new and in original boxes. All internal packing materials, instruction manuals, blank warranty cards and accessories must also be included for any replacement, exchange, or refund. The UPC code must still be attached to the box. If it has been removed, then the item is not eligible for return.

Please save your receipt as a record of your purchase. All returned goods MUST be accompanied by a copy of your receipt.

After receiving authorization from us, please ship your merchandise (adequately packaged) back to Cameta Camera. Please do not write on or place shipping labels or stickers on the manufacturer’s packaging. All items must be shipped freight-prepaid, and insured for the full value of the returned product(s). Sorry, Cameta Camera cannot accept COD or freight-collect shipments. For your protection, we strongly recommend you get a tracking number and insurance for your protection.

Non-defective items which qualified for "free shipping" on the original order and are being returned will have the standard shipping charges deducted from the amount of the refund or credit.

Please be aware that we cannot accept returns on the following items unless they are shown to be defective in manufacture (as decided by the manufacturer):

  • Underwater equipment (once taken underwater)
  • Inkjet printers (once ink cartridge/ribbon has been installed)
  • Processing equipment (once used with chemicals)
  • Educational DVDs, Tapes and Books once opened
  • Blister-packed items once opened
  • Original manufacturer software once opened
  • Special Order merchandise
  • IMPORTANT: The UPC code must still be attached to the box. If it has been removed, then the item is not eligible for return

For the protection of our customers we also cannot allow returns on all consumables, including but not limited to recordable media such as digital memory (unless unused or defective in manufacture as determined by the manufacturer), film, videotapes, or blank CD/DVDs, as well as batteries, paper, chemicals, ink, bulbs, etc.

Please be aware that we cannot be responsible for personal data (contained on memory cards or recorded on built-in camera memory) or items left in returned merchandise.

If any of the above conditions are not met, Cameta Camera reserves the right to refuse the return or charge a restock fee of not less than 15%, at our sole discretion.

Please inspect your purchase carefully. Claims for damaged or missing items must be received within five (5) business days from date of delivery. In the event of equipment received, which was damaged in delivery, all shipping boxes and packing material must be retained for inspection by the shipping carrier. After receiving a damaged shipment, please contact our Customer Service Department immediately for instructions.

Refunds on returned items which were paid by money order or certified check will only be made by company check after a 10 business day waiting period.

How do rebates work?

Instant rebates are sometimes referred to as instant savings. This means the price reflected has already taken into account the discount in question. No further discount will be provided to the price paid.

Mail-in rebates entitle the buyer to a mail-in coupon in order to receive a refund for a particular amount depending on the product and time of purchase. Cameta Camera will provide all "main-in rebate" forms for those products which are eligible. Each manufacturer has their own regulations regarding each rebate program, so please read the instructions carefully. This offer is not valid for international buyers due to manufacturer policies.

Can I have a custom package made?

Bidding Questions

What if I bid on the wrong item?

If there is more than 12 hours left to the auction, you may retract your bid. However, all of your previous bids for that specific auction will also be eliminated. So be sure to bid again if you are correcting a bidding error. Please contact support@ebay.com for any technical inquiries.

If there is less than 12 hours left to the auction, you may retract your bid within one hour of having placed it. In this case only that bid will be retracted; any other bid you placed more than one hour earlier remains valid.

What is a "reserve price?"

A reserve price is the minimum price an eBay seller is willing to accept for an item. eBay does not show the reserve price, only whether or not the reserve has been met. The seller is not obligated to sell an item if the reserve price is not met. To be the winning bidder, you must meet or exceed the reserve price and have the highest bid at the end of the auction.

We do not reveal the reserve price of our listings.

Do you ever make "Second Chance" offers?

No. We do not send second chance offers.

Product Questions

What is a "factory demo?"

A "factory demo" is an item that has been inspected and tested by the manufacturer to meet all original manufacturers' specifications. All items have minimal use and are cosmetically in mint to near-mint condition. Each item is in BRAND NEW operating condition and is covered by a ONE YEAR WARRANTY on parts and labor by Cameta Camera.

What does the Cameta Camera Warranty cover?

Cameta Camera provides a parts and labor warranty for one year from the date of purchase.  This warranty includes, and is not in addition to, any warranty provided by the manufacturer.

This warranty shall not apply to any product which has been subjected to misuse, abuse, abnormal use, negligence, alteration or accident, or has had its serial number altered or removed.

This warranty extends to the original consumer purchaser only and is not transferable.

Shipping fees are not covered by the warranty.

Is the warranty covered internationally?

Every new and factory demo product Cameta Camera offers includes and is covered by the terms of the warranty as supplied by the authorized USA distributor of that product. The USA warranty is always valid for repair within the USA and sometimes internationally. As warranty policies differ depending on the product and manufacturer, do not assume that it is valid internationally. Check with the authorized distributor of the product in your country to determine if a valid USA warranty will be honored there.

Most equipment can be covered by an optional international extended warranty. It has valuable features to enhance and significantly extend the time period of your basic warranty coverage.

Are extended warranties available?

Yes. Extended warranties are available on most cameras and lenses sold by our store. Some of our extended warranties are available for purchase directly through eBay. Can I get a different color camera/accessory than the one shown in the auction?

No. Every Cameta Camera listing accurately presents the equipment that has been set aside. Even if a particular item is sometimes offered in another color than presented, do not bid on or complete a Buy It Now purchase unless you want to purchase the color displayed. Does the charger and/or A/C power supply operate internationally?

Electrical components included as original equipment by the camera manufacturer within the same box as the camera body (usually just a charger), will typically operate in the USA only unless the unit offers an interchangeable voltage option. An optional plug adapter to convert to any voltage system utilized outside of the USA may be required.

What video system format (NTSC or PAL) will a camera work with?

Digital Still Cameras usually have a user selectable menu setting for both NTSC and PAL formats. However if PAL compatibility is very important to you, please check with the authorized USA distributor of the product for verification.

All camcorder (analog, digital, MiniDV, and DVD) listings on Cameta Camera are NTSC unless otherwise specified.

Payment Questions

Do you accept PayPal?

We accept PayPal payments where the shipping address is the confirmed PayPal address. Addresses which are confirmed on PayPal will indicate "Confirmed" in the status column of the Profile Tab.

If you need to verify if your address is confirmed, please contact PayPal directly at (402) 935-2050.

PayPal payments cannot be combined with any other payment method.

Do you accept Credit Card Payments?

We do accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover so long as we can get address verification for both the billing and shipping address.

If you are selecting a shipping address which is different than the billing address, we request that it be added with your credit or banking institution in advance to expedite the verification process.

Do you accept money orders or personal checks?

We do not accept payment in the form of money order or personal check. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Do I have to pay state sales tax?

  • Yes, New York State requires tax to be paid if we ship to an address within New York State.
  • Yes, New York State requires tax to be paid if you pick-up your purchase at our store.
  • No, if we are shipping your purchase anywhere outside of New York State.

Shipping (Domestic) Questions

How much will it cost to ship my package?

All listings contain the shipping charges for standard, expedited and one-day shipping for domestic orders.

How long will it take for delivery?

The delivery time frame is directly dependent upon the shipping method chosen. Cameta Camera will select the shipping service used based on the method selected by the buyer and the weight and size of the package being shipped.

Following is a list of the possible shipping methods, which will be used, based on the shipping option selected, and their associated transit time estimates.

Standard
One of the following service types will be used:
  • USPS First Class Mail (Approx. 7-10 business days in transit)
  • USPS Priority Mail (Approx. 3-5 business days in transit)
  • FedEx Ground (Approx. 1-5 business in transit to 48 contiguous states; 3-7 business days in transit to Alaska and Hawaii)

**Due to the fact FedEx cannot deliver to a PO Box or military address, a USPS service method will automatically be chosen**

Expedited (3 business days on average)
One of the following service types will be used:
  • USPS Priority Mail (Approx. 3-5 business days in transit)
  • FedEx 2 Day Air (Approx. 2 business days in transit; Alaska and Hawaii will take 3 business days)

**Due to the fact FedEx cannot deliver to a PO Box or military address, a USPS service method will automatically be chosen**

One Day Shipping

  • FedEx Standard Overnight (Approx. 1 business day in transit)

Can I use my FedEx or UPS account number to bill the shipping fees?

Yes. We can have the shipping charges billed directly to your FedEx or UPS account under the following stipulations:

  • Shipment can only be made to an address within the United States.
  • There is a $5.00 handling charge per box shipped on your account.

Can I pick-up from the Cameta Camera retail store and not pay for shipping?

Yes. Our retail store is located at 253 Broadway (Route 110) Amityville, NY 11701. However, please call 1-800-991-3350 in advance so that we can arrange for our warehouse to have the items available in the store for you. Also, please be aware that you will have to pay local sales tax on your purchase.

Do you offer shipping to hotels, motels, resorts or schools?

Although we at Cameta Camera try to accommodate all of our customers, due to insurance regulations we do not offer shipping to these types of locations.

Shipping (International) Questions

How much will it cost to ship my package?

All listings contain the shipping charges for standard shipping for international orders. Standard shipping may include USPS First Class Mail International, USPS Express Mail International, FedEx International Economy or FedEx International Priority. The shipping method is chosen by Cameta Camera and is based on the weight and size of the package, as well as the destination.

The shipping price covers shipping, insurance and handling charges. International taxes or duties are at the buyer's expense.

Can I use my FedEx or UPS account number to bill the shipping fees?

No. We do not offer this service for International buyers. We are sorry for any inconvenience.

Can packages sent internationally be marked as a "gift" or indicate a lower insurance value?

No. All international packages are marked "eBay purchase" on the insurance form. Packages will not be marked as "gift," nor will we falsify the value.

How long will it take for delivery?

The delivery time frame is directly dependent upon the shipping method selected for the order.

Cameta Camera offers USPS First Class Mail International, USPS Express Mail International, FedEx International Economy, and FedEx International Priority based on the weight and size of the package being shipped.

USPS First Class Mail International takes approximately 5-7 business days in transit on average to reach customs.
USPS Express Mail International takes approximately 3-5 business days in transit on average to reach customs.
FedEx Economy International takes approximately 3-5 business days in transit on average to reach customs.
FedEx Priority International takes approximately 2-3 business days in transit on average to reach customs.

Once the package arrives at customs it will be processed and delivered to you. Processing times at customs will vary, and we are unable to confirm how long customs may take.

Do I have to pay customs duties, taxes or fees?

Yes. On orders shipped outside of the USA there may be local customs duties, taxes and/or fees. Each country has different procedures and regulations for incoming packages. Please check with the proper local authorities regarding duties, taxes and fees before you make your bid or purchase. We are not responsible for local fees.

If you fail to pay local duties or taxes and your package is returned to us your shipping fee will not be refunded.
