What is Caserita.com?

The name:

Caserita means a person who sells to you. It implies familiarity. In Bolivia, this word refers to the people with whom you do daily commercial activities.

For example, your "caserita" will be the lady that every morning sells bread in the little store of your neighborhood, the person who brings you the newspaper, or any other kind and cordial salesperson who besides maintaining a commercial relationship with you, also maintains a familiar one.

Therefore, through Caserita.com, we aim to maintain this type of relationship with our clients and at the same time spread a little bit of Bolivian culture, customs and its people.
Our site:

Bolivia is a geographically and culturally diverse country. Its geographically richness begins in the unexplored Amazon jungle in the north of the country (bordering with Brazil), crossing the Real Mountain Range and the Andean Mountain Range in the Plateau, reaching the pleasant warm temperatures in the south of the country with populations such as Tupiza (located 2 hours from the border with Argentina).

Through this route we will also find a diversity of flora and fauna species.

For this reason, in Caserita.com besides the images of the products, you will find information about the products (origin, characteristics, etc.), the artisans we work with (their work, the elaboration of their products), and also information about Bolivian gastronomy, historic data and more.

We believe it is important that people who don´t know Bolivia can have access to this general information, since it will bring them a broader vision of the culture and the Bolivian lifestyle and so when they see one of our products they will imagine the history that develops behind each of them.

Our project:

Giovy and Pierre Thollet (industrial engineer and manager of the Bolivian web agency Laëtis Latina Production SRL), conceived the idea of this project starting 2002.

During this time they paid special attention to the different artisan Bolivian products and saw the possibility of opening a virtual store on the internet.

With the arrival of Benjamin Lemoine (commercial student) to the team on July 2003, the project began with the quick selection of products, producers, transport means and the finalization of the market and marketing studies.

The project Caserita.com is a project planned with care and the principal goal is to spread the Bolivian handicrafts to the world through the internet.
