1. What is silk woven paintings and calligraphy?
I must clarify first that the SILK PAINTING or SILK CALLIGRAPHY sold in our store is NOT the painting painted on silk, in fact, they are the paintings woven by silk. They are also called SILK BROCADE PAINTING. Inheriting Chinese traditional silk weaving arts and handicraft and combined with new weaving technique to produce 100% pure silk woven paintings and calligraphy, the paintings and calligraphy are exquisite and lifelike, with soft and luxurious gloss of silk to the original works. These paintings and calligraphy are often used for collection, home and office wall decoration, and as the high-class present.

2. Are these paintings and calligraphy original artwork or reproduction?
It is hard to say. Because some paintings and calligraphy are reproduction of famous paintings, and some watercolor paintings are designed by the factory itself. Though some are reproduction, they are much different from the original artwork, for these paintings are woven by silk, not painted on paper. If you regard them as a craft, they are original.

3. Are these paintings and calligraphy worth collecting?
Still hard to say. We can't said all the vintage paintings are worth collecting. So like other artworks or crafts, that depends on the time, quality, technique and content of the silk paintings. The fine silk become more and more expensive, so does the artwork and craft made by silk. Some high-class silk woven paintings are collected and exhibited by many Chinese museum now. But besides collection, they are often used for home decoration, and also very suitable as high-grade gift and present.
All the paintings and calligraphy in my store are from city of Hangzhou (the cradle of Chinese silk woven technique), and made by high-grade silk.

4. What's the size of silk woven painting?
A silk woven painting or calligraphy maybe has different size. For example, silk woven painting of Xu Beihong's famous artwork SIX HORSES has two sizes that we sell. Small size painting core is 10" x 19", and large size 20" x 35". Their prices are different.
For each painting or calligraphy, please check the item description for its actual size. Generally, I only list the one common size of each painting. If you like smaller or larger size, please inquire me first. I will check if there is any other size of it.
