We know you have choices to make when you’re shopping online. You’re looking for good prices, reasonable shipping costs, excellent customer service—we want the same things when we shop online, too.
But, particularly when shopping online, many people focus on price above all other factors. Sometimes we will have the best price for an item, but other times a different dealer will have an item for a lower price than we list. Our pledge to buyers is that we will always have a FAIR price for our items, even if it’s not the LOWEST price available.
Some sellers are guilty of “predatory pricing,” meaning that they will sell items at (or sometimes even below) wholesale cost. This practice hurts everyone in the magic community—it forces other dealers into situations where they have to lower their prices to compete or they choose to stick to their own pricing scheme at the risk of losing customers. Either situation can prove harmful or fatal to small businesses. (We call this the “Wal-Mart Effect.”) Other sellers artificially lower their prices for items and then charge arbitrary shipping fees to make up the difference (for example, charging $1 to ship one DVD, but $5 to ship a different title). We feel these practices are unfair to both buyers and to other magic sellers.
