The original Crittergetter hose is constructed of very heavy gage 3-Ply Polyester Yarns, is tough enough to be driven over by a car on a rocky surface without being damaged, and was created with the intent of withstanding continuous vigorous use. For those who do not require the industrial strength durability of the original, we have developed this new version of the Crittergetter. By forming a union between the original Crittergetter hose and our lightweight plastic hose we have created the following benefits:
- By using a section of the original Crittergetter hose at the point of connection with the tailpipe, we are still able to maintain the heat resistance of the original Crittergetter but remove the bulk and expense of the majority of the original Crittergetter hose by substituting it with our lightweight plastic hose.
- The Homeowner Crittergetter is easier to handle and maneuver than the original.
- Our lightweight plastic hose has greater flexibility than the original Crittergetter hose.
- 50-foot sections of our lightweight hose are available for the extension of your Crittergetter in length up to 150+ feet or for replacement of a damaged hose. Please see our replacement/extension units & coupler kits.
- Our Homeowner Crittergetter is affordable.
This version of Crittergetter functions the same as and should be sized and ordered using the same procedures as the original Crittergetter. The Homeowner Crittergetter is available in two sizes: “Up to 3 inch” diameter and “3 inch +”. Our “Up to 3 inch” model will fit tailpipes up to and including 3 inches. Our “3 inch +” model will fit tailpipes up to 4 inches and is best suited for tailpipes greater than 3 inches.
Some very basic assembly involving the use of a standard screwdriver or 5/16” nut driver (not included) is required.

Sizing Instructions -
Please see the photos below for directions on how to determine the proper diameter Crittergetter hose you will need. Please note that Crittergetter hose does not stretch in diameter - if you have any doubt, order the next larger size. A 2" (5.1 cm) diameter hose will fit a maximum of a 2" (5.1 cm) outside diameter exhaust pipe; a 3" (7.6 cm) diameter hose will fit a maximum of a 3" (7.6 cm) outside diameter exhaust pipe, etc. Do not be concerned with ordering a Crittergetter that is larger than your tailpipe; in the directions you will be shown how to deal with this excess.
For this application a 3" Original Crittergetter or an "Up to 3-inch" Homeowner Crittergetter should be ordered
For this application a 2" Original Crittergetter or an "Up to 3-inch" Homeowner Crittergetter should be ordered
This is the correct way to measure an odd shaped tailpipe. A 4" Original Crittergetter or a "3-inch plus" Homeowner Crittergetter should be ordered.
