What is the difference between flat and
molded dash kits?
Molded dash kits are
pre formed at the factory to fit the
shape and contour of your dash. The
pieces arrive to you 3 dimensional, and
mold around corners, sides, and edges to
give a more OEM factory look. Flat dash
kits are called "flat" because they
arrive as flat pieces. They are flexible
when warmed, and will curve to the shape
of the dash, but in only one direction,
and are capable of doing only the front
facing surface of the dash. Both kits
are applied in the same way, with
adhesive backing. Molded dash kits are
way more expensive than flat and contain
less pieces. We manufacture FLAT
kits only, but we also sell Molded kits
made by our business partners.
|
Which type of kit is easier to install, flat or molded?
Both types of kits are applied in
generally the same way. Each type has a 3M adhesive backing, and
adheres to the existing dash surface. Our Flat dash kit
installations often require a little more time because of the
greater number of pieces in the kit.
|
Do these kits replace original parts in
my vehicle?
No. These kits are applied directly to
your existing dash surface. No pieces
are removed from your vehicle.
Our Trim kits
are not designed to replace or cover
factory installed wood and replace
any other dashboard parts.
|
Can I do the installation myself?
Yes! All our
customers do their own installations.
Your dash kit is supplied with complete
installation instructions and all the
materials required to install your kit.
Our website also has general guidelines
and tips for installation. Please refer
to the
Installation Instruction included with your kit.

| What to do
if my car already has wood installed
from the factory?
Please inform us about wood in your
car before you place an order or with
the payment. This information is very
important and it will help us to send
you the kit in correct match finish. We
can match most of types of finishes in
different models, but sometimes we
should investigate which finish is the
best match for wood in your car.

Why
do you charge 20% Restocking Fee if I want to cancel my order the
next day after purchase?
Dash Trim Kit is an individual product. We offer more than 2500 items in different materials. This is the main reason why we don't keep our kits in stock. Simple calculation 2500 items * 20 finishes gives us ~50 000 items on a shelves. It's just impossible to store this amount of boxes. We make each kit exactly in accordance to customer's order and material he wants.
We use a step-by-step order fulfillment and production procedure. This procedure allows us to make production as much efficient as possible and produce kits faster. All orders received during working hours, evening and night are collected in a batch and are processed on 9.00 AM (EST) next business day. So any order received after 9.01 AM (EST) could be canceled before 9.00 AM (EST) next business day. In this case no Restocking Fee will be applied because we didn't start to make it. In other words, only not processed orders could be cancelled without Restocking Fee. For all other orders Restocking Fee will be applied because we spent our time and material.
For example:
- order placed today at 3.00 PM (EST) will be processed next business day at 9.00 AM (EST). That means there is 18 hours to cancel it without restocking fee.
- order placed between Friday and Sunday could be cancelled until Monday 9.00 AM (EST).
- order placed today at 6.00 AM (EST), will be processed also today at 9.00 AM (EST). That means there is only 3 hours to cancel it without restocking fee.
| Why separate pieces are more expensive?
We make kits from 24" x 18" sheets of material. They are cut on laser machine which uses special cutting files. All pieces included in the kit are set and aligned in this file to use maximum space of the sheet. Correct alignment allows us to use about 95-97% of material surface and reduce amount of waste and leftovers. This becomes possible because small pieces can be aligned inside larger pieces which have openings and large pieces can be set near each other at certain angles. When we make whole kit (means all pieces shown on the diagram) all material is used in regular way and each piece costs to us and customer minimal price. Custom orders, like separate pieces or difference between Basic and Full Kit, doesn't allow us to use material as effectively as for complete kit, that's why a lot of material turns into waste. Sometimes waste and leftovers for custom orders can reach up to 20-40%, which makes each piece more expensive. We also spend extra working time for custom orders. Instead of just opening the file and sending it to the cutting machine our designer should make temporary cutting file. He should remove all unnecessary pieces and re-align rest of the parts for particular custom job.
| Do
you sell plain sheets of materials?
No. We don't sell material.
| Can
I buy plain sheets of material and cut
my own pieces?
No. Pieces should be cut before coating. If coated
material will be cut this will damage
coating.
| Do
you do custom work?
Since our main office located in USA/NY it is hard
for us to make custom work for you.
However we may do it if you can
completely explain us what to do, please contact us
for more information. Kits are sold as
shown in the diagrams.
| How
to remove old installed kit?
What you will need to remove
our dash
kit:
-A Hair Dryer or Heating Gun
-A clean soft cloth
-Oil based paint thinner liquid or
alcohol
To remove a trim piece, you should first
heat it with a Hair Dryer (set on High
Temperature) or Heating Gun (set on
Medium temperature). When you warm the
whole surface of a piece, concentrate
hot air flow on one side and continue
heating. Now start taking off the piece
from this side carefully and slowly.
When the piece is detached, wipe the
dashboard surface and remove remaining
3M tape pieces with a help of "Oil Based
Paint Thinner" liquid (or alcohol) and
clean soft cloth.
Repeat this procedure with every trim
piece you want to remove.
