Things to look for when purchasing a designer Coach Bag

The items listed below are ways to tell if a Coach bag is authentic. Not all bags contain all of these items. I would always suggest purchasing your bag new with tags. If you are still in doubt ask the seller to supply a copy of the receipt or a gift receipt for authentication.

1.Craftsmanship:

High end designer bags are always well designed. Inspect the stitching for the quality and craftsmanship you can expect in a designer bag.

2.C Signature:

One of the easiest things to look for is how the C's line up. The C's will always line up perfectly in the center. Keep in mind it is not usual for the mini C's to be slightly off since, they are so much smaller. Also, you will find the pattern of C's are always in sets of 2.

3.YKK zipper:

Most high end designer bags will have YKK embossed on the zipper. This is a high end zipper used by Coach and Kate Spade. Keep in mind some of the older models may not have this. This does not mean your bag is not real. It only authenticates the bag if it does have the stamp on the zipper.

4.Leather Accents:

Genuine Leather zip pull and trim.

5.Serial #:

Again not all bags have this. For instance mini skinny wallets, pouches and some of the smaller bags do not have a serial #. This does not mean they are not authentic. The serial # will always start with No. (abbreviation for number) and the last set of numbers will match with the style # of the bag

6.Embossing:

Many Coach products have the Coach name embossed in the leather or the hardware. Coach hang tags will always have raised letters.

7.Made in China:

Most Coach bags are actually made in China, so, having a made in China tag in the interior does not mean the bag is not authentic. With the exception of some of the older models all most every Coach bag is currently manufactured or assembled in China.
