Natural Pink Diamonds are among the rarest of
all Fancy Colors. All the diamonds below are listed with the grades given
them by GIA.
IN terms of price, a 1.00
Natural Pick diamond for less than $20,000 is considered an
"inexpensive" one carat pink . A 1.00 Fancy Intense Pink Diamond as graded
by GIA could easily be worth in excess of $100,000.
Given these prices, many
people go for Natural Pick Diamonds that are lighter in color, or have a
modifying shade such as brown. Faint pink diamonds are available ( when you
can find them) at prices comparable to high white ( D color) diamonds.
In many cases the proper
setting will give the pink a "boost" giving even a light pink diamond
noticeable pink color.
As a color, pink is more
apparent than some other shades. For example- a diamond with a slight yellow
tint might be graded M color by GIA. A diamond with a similar saturation of
pink, might be classified as "Light Pink" by GIA.
As you can see in the photo
below, a "Light Pink" can be visibly pink once set.
