Yellow
diamonds are often referred to as "Canary" diamonds- although we
generally do not use the term because there is no agreed upon specific gemological
definition- therefore the term is frequently abused.
In general, the
deeper the pure yellow color is, the more valuable it is.
To
determine a Fancy Colored Diamond's value, we must remember that within each
grade is a variation. A very dark Fancy Yellow may be almost identical in
color to a very light Fancy Intense Yellow. This all goes into determining
value.
All the
diamonds below were graded by GIA.
A note about
photography: We never use any type of photo editing software to alter the
color of our photos- ever. We used several photos of each color grade- as
well as a stone that is set into a ring. The variations mentioned above can
be seen in these photos- also- changing the light under which you look at a
colored diamond, and the color will appear differently. Gotta love it!
