Dog Scene's Policies on Payments, Shipping, & Returns
IMPORTANT - When purchasing, you must ‘Checkout’. Going through the checkout process enables us to process & ship your item more quickly. We use eBay's checkout system (not a 3rd party) and our internal order system works seamlessly with it. However, if you don't go through checkout to we will not know you have paid.
Credit Cards - Credit cards are accepted through PayPal only.
PayPal - Dog Scene accepts PayPal payments, however you must go though checkout to submit your payment. We can not accept direct payments from PayPal (where you did not go through the checkout process). If you pay by eCheck, we must wait for it to clear (approx 4 business days) before shipping.
Money Orders/Cashiers Checks - Dog Scene does NOT accept Money Orders/Cahiers Checks/Personal Checks in accordance with eBay's payment policy.
Sales Tax - We are required to collect 8% sales tax for items shipped to California.
Payment is expected immediately after purchase. For auctions where you have placed a bid and then later win, we allow a maximum of 4 days to pay. Please do not bid on an item unless you intend to pay immediately.
Fast! - Our goal is to ship the same or next business day after receiving your cleared payment. The cutoff for same day shipment is approx 8am (PT). Payments after 8am usually go the next business day. On rare occasions, we may not be able to meet our goal. If known in advance, it will be noted in the item description, so that you will know BEFORE purchasing. If unexpected delays do occur after your purchase, we will do our best to keep you updated by email as to shipment status and your options.
Options - At the current time, we ship using the United States Postal Service only. We offer Standard Shipping & Priority Mail options on most items. Standard Shipping will normally be sent by 1st Class Mail, depending on the weight. For our international customers (Canada only), we normally ship by First Class Mail International and a Priority Mail International option is also available on most items during checkout.
Charges - Most of our items are Free Shipping to US Addresses. In the event there is a shipping charge, our fixed rate Shipping/Handling (S/H) fees have been set based on the weight of the item, plus a small handling fee and include insurance. The S/H Fee will be as shown in eBay's Shipping and Payment Details section.
Discounts - Most of our items are Free Shipping to US Addresses. In the event there is a shipping charge, multiple items may be combined in shipment to reduce your overall S/H charge. Usually the S/H on the 2nd, 3rd, etc item is discounted by $1.50 or more. If you have or plan to purchase multiple items, please do not go through checkout until you are completely done shopping. Once you are completely done shopping, then use the Pay Now or Checkout button or the link in the payment instruction message to go through checkout. The discount will be applied automatically. It is not necessary to wait for a request a combined invoice. We can not give a combined shipping discount if you have already paid for an item, they must be paid for together at the same time.
Notifications/Tracking - You will receive an email when your item is shipped. We use delivery confirmation on all our shipments, so you may be able to track your shipment at the USPS website using the delivery confirmation number you will be given by email. However, please keep in mind that the delivery confirmation is not a true tracking system as the USPS is only required to scan packages upon delivery. For shipments to Canada - The USPS does not provide any type of tracking for First Class Mail International to Canada once it leaves the US. You shipment will be trackable to the last US station, after that it is in the hands of Canada Post or Customs.
Insurance - Insurance is included in the S/H price. Please contact us if your item was lost or damaged in shipment.
Defective Items - We do our best to inspect each item to make sure there are no defects prior to sending. We don't sell used items, so any defective products have come from the manufacturer that way or was damaged in shipment. If your item is defective on receipt, please contact us via email within 14 days for refund or replacement arrangements. If you feel the item is defective after use or 14 days, most items are guarenteed by the manufacturer and you may contact them for satisfaction.
Does Not Fit - If the item does not fit your needs for any reason you may return it and we will refund the purchase price (shipping & handling is not refundable). Since the purchase price of free shipping items include shipping expenses - free shipping items will have a 20% restocking fee deducted from the refund. This restocking fee covers part of the original shipping cost. The restocking fee only applies to free shipping items. The item must be returned in original/new condition with all tags/packaging intact within 14 days for a refund. The item must be free dog hair, smoke smell, etc. Refunds will NOT be given for items returned with any dog hair, dirt/stains, smoke smell, damaged or missing tags/packaging. ***In regard to sizing - Please measure your dog before purchasing. We have put all measurements from the package or manufacturer guidelines in the size chart accompanying each item description. Please email us if you need a more specific measurement prior to purchasing. Breeds listed are only a guideline, since breed sizes vary you need to measure your dog to be sure! Even after measuring some items will still end up not fitting, so we will be happy to refund the purchase price (minus s/h) in these cases.
No Exchanges - Unfortunately we can not exchange for larger or smaller sizes due to inventory control limitations. Please return the item for a refund and purchase the correct size at your convenience.
Free Shipping Items - FREE SHIPPING items will have a 20% restocking fee deducted from the refund. This fee covers a portion of the original shipping cost which is non-refundable.
Missing/Incorrect Items - Although rare, mistakes can happen. If you have received an incorrect item or an incomplete order, please contact us for immediate resolution.
Where to Return - Please send the item to the return address on the packing slip included with your order. Our address and return instructions are also included on our 'Shipped' email. Please include a copy of the packing slip or 'Shipped' email message with the return so we know where to apply the refund. If the packing slip/email is unavailable, please include a note with your name, email address & eBay ID. We would also appreciate a short annotation on the reason for return.
