On vintage clothing:
99% of my vintage clothing comes directly from the original owners where they've probably hung untouched for years. You do have to expect that there might be some dust, some storage aroma, and upon occasion, a smudge or two, a loose thread here or there. I do not clean clothing items before selling (I pick out the cleanest possible first and leave the yucky ones behind), so please have your items cleaned when you get them if you need to wear immediately for an event. I always spray with Febreze Freshener before sending (let me know if you're allergic to it and I won't on yours). You also can expect that sudden fiddling about with a dress that has been left alone for 50 years, some deterioration will begin immediately. I have put mint condition dresses into packages to have them be received with stitches coming loose or chiffon suddenly beginning to shred. There is no conspiracy to deceive. If it is within reason, please chose to keep the item. You probably won't find another like it, and a trip to the cleaners in your state is much less expensive than in mine. If something has begun to shred, by all means, let me know. If something doesn't come out in the wash so to speak, I will work with you. I do refund for anything that is misrepresented, but I do not give partial refunds.
On Vintage Furs:
Vintage furs come from unknown care levels. A fur that looks pristine going into the box to you, may come out with a splitting pelt. This is not uncommon. What you need to know is this: I will only guarantee through day of delivery, but don't feel abandoned. Any fur I've taken back for refund I've donated to the Humane Society for nearly 500.00 each in tax write offs. Are you sure you want me to get that write off? You might want to consider that for yourself. The Humane Society cuts up the furs and puts them in the beds of injured and abandoned animals and the real fur helps to bring down the animal's stress level.
On Vintage Re enactment Items:
SCA and Renaissance Faire and Pirate items I find are vintage items from estate sales, and are not made by me or bought wholesale for resale. Please understand that when you receive your item and you see that it does have some wear. I generally describe any wear you might readily find, but if I miss mentioning it, just in case, there is some age expected, even if the item is relatively mint. Combining auctions can mean a second item may only add 1.00 or so to your shipping, so it is with your best interest at heart that I try to have several feast gear sets up at once for you to choose from. |
On New Pirate Close-out items:
For hygienic reasons, Pirate clothing sales are final for close-out items. Please pay close attention to size measurements carefully. Any known flaws will be stated.
On shipping:
Shipping is calculated for the safest way, not the cheapest. I will send books by media mail, and small items first class mail. All others will be calculated by UPS Ground, and Priority Mail with tracking. UPS covers up to 100.00 in value, USPS, insurance must be bought by customer.
If you do not want me to send to your verified paypal address, you must say so. Don't just send me a different shipping address by e-mail, you must SPECIFY NOT to send to the paypal address, but to the one you provide.
On my policies:
If you have not heard from me by the 3rd day, please contact me. Sometimes a user's email address will be old and I can't reach them. Contact me! After three days I assume you may be a bad bidder. Don't let me think that about you.
I am solid on my policies, so you always know what to expect, and I bend over backwards to give you every opportunity to make good on a sale. The only negative feedback I have ever received is "retaliation" feedback" (Bad bidders leaving negative feedback for me simply because I left negative feedback on them for not paying). If you've bid on an item, it is your responsibility to keep track of what happens to your bid, even if your computer goes down, or you're out of town. Mine goes down, I go out of town; I go to the library, I use a friend's computer, I know how to get to my email and my "My E-Bay", and you should too if you are bidding online, your bid is a contract. People move, people have emergencies, people get sick. If you're an honest person with an honest delay, I will work with you.
Payment must be received within 10 days, unless the item is listed as "Immediate Payment Required. If 10 days goes by and I have nothing from you, I will notify you, and you have one more chance (people do have emergencies, misplace envelopes, etc.). If nothing comes through at the agreed upon time, I have to begin the bad bidder process. Until negative feedback is left there is no permanent scar on your record, so if you receive the first "reminder to pay your seller", there is no harm being done to your reputation. I am only taking the steps necessary to the fee system.
I try to ship all items in 24-36 hours. If your item is large or an unusual size, it make take an extra day or two for me to get the materials together. I do not charge for additional materials or special size boxes bought just for your item. Please, however, allow up to 2 weeks for delivery of items, especially UPS, especially east coast.
I appreciate your comments:
I'm a single mom, doing this for a living full time. I love to be here for the schoolbus! If you have any ideas that you think would help me, by all means stick your nose in. I would love to hear your comments. I always appreciate the kindness of strangers. I'm no dork. |
