It was first made in 1977 and was a popular pattern for the 1970's and 1980's bride. It was officially discontinued by Noritake in 1996. These items came directly from the Noritake warehouse as they have finally liquidated the final pieces.

Since 1858, when Japan signed the Friendship and Commerce Treaty with the United States, Netherlands, Russia, Great Britain and France, the rest of the world has been privileged to import Japanese wares. The earliest exporter was Morimura-Kumi, which was formed in Tokyo for exporting. Then the Hinode company was established in New York City for retailing, but soon was replaced by Morimura Brothers & Co. The company has gone through many changes, but surprisingly, the NORITAKE form did not occur until 1976 when it was established in Belgium.
