Why Hand Dyed Fabric
There is a difference between hand dyed and commercially dyed fabric. For the artist, it is all about color. Every painter knows that the brightest, truest color always occurs at the edges, where 2 colors run together, or where color runs into white surface and lets the white shine thru. If vibrant color, unique surface texture, and the softest hand is desired, then hand dyed fabric is the best choice. If perfectly even, flat color is required, or the lowest cost, or a very large quantity, then commercial fabric is the ticket.  Other reasons to consider hand dyed are environmental costs, (small batch dyeing is much easier on mother nature), support for small business, (always a good thing), and the opportunity to buy high quality custom colored fabric at bargain prices.
