EIGHT MANSIONS THEORY
Eight Mansion Formula is a powerful Feng Shui compass formula used for determining your personal auspicious and inauspicious directions based on your lunar year of birth and gender. Easy to apply and yet has great potency, you can use it to determine the orientation of your main door, your sleeping direction and also sitting direction at work, when studying or attending an important meeting with your client. You could also activate these directions with Feng Shui enhancers to magnify the luck brought by the corresponding directions. The more you apply the Eight Mansion Formula to your daily lives, the more apparent you will notice its power and the good luck it brings you. Here is how you can harness this Formula to Feng Shui your way to a better life:
What is my KUA Numbers?
First of all, you need to know your KUA Number. Here is how you can manually calculate your KUA Number. Alternatively, refer to our 100 Year Chinese Lunar Calendar to find out your KUA Number.
1. If you are born in the year 1954 (Chinese Lunar Calendar) Add the last two digits of your year of birth e.g. 5 + 4 = 9
2. If this sum has two digits, reduce it by adding the two digits again until you arrive at a single digit e.g. 1977 so 7 + 7 = 14; then 1 + 4 = 5
3. For men, subtract the results from 10 e.g. for men born in 1954, it will be 10 - 9 = 1. Thus the KUA number is 1.
For men born in 1977 their KUA number is 10 - 5 = 5
4. For women, add 5 to the results e.g. for women born in 1954, it will be 9 + 5 = 14; then 1 + 4 = 5 so the KUA number is 5.
For women born in 1977 their KUA number is 5 + 5 = 10, then add 1 + 0 = 1.
What do I do with my KUA Number?
Then, use the table below to determine your personalized lucky and unlucky directions. Try to commit your auspicious and inauspicious directions to mind. Always try to face one of your lucky directions and avoid facing your unlucky directions, especially the Total Loss direction.

THREE KILLINGS AND GRAND DUKE
Besides the Flying stars, there are two more locations to watch out for. They are the Three Killings (Sarm Saat) and the Grand Duke Jupiter (Tai Sui) which change their locations every year.
Three Killings take the form of three types of bad luck and this usually come in the form of accident, financial loss and illness. Never sit with you back facing the Three Killings when you are working or studying. Do not undertake any renovation or construction works in this sector as this will activate the affliction. Excellent Feng Shui cures for the Three Killings with three Chi Lins, the Dragon Tortoise or the Laughing Buddha. Place the antidotes in affected sector.
The Grand Duke Jupiter is widely respected and paid attention to by the Chinese. Each year, the Chinese will identify his location in the home / working premises so as not to inadvertently disturb him. It is also important to check if their Zodiac sign will be in direct conflict with the Grand Duke in that year. If that is the case, you should carry a Tai Sui Horoscope Protective Coin throughout the year. Contrary to the Three Killings, one should never sit or sleep directly facing the Grand Duke, or the consequences can be very bad. Do not disturb the Grand Duke by undertaking any renovation or construction work in the afflicted sector or it will incur his wrath and bring misfortunes. If that happened, appease the Grand Duke immediately with a Pi Yao by placing it in the afflicted sector or wearing it as an amulet.
Use a good compass to accurately determine the direction of your home. Then refer to the table below to look out for the locations of the Three Killings and the Grand Duke and take the necessary precautionary steps so as not to activate or offend them.

FLYING STAR FENG SHUI
It is important to learn about the locations of annual and monthly flying stars (xuan kong fei xing), reputed to be the most powerful systems in the study of Feng Shui. Annual stars stay in a sector for that year and shift to another sector in a pre-determined pattern in the following year. Monthly stars change positions on a monthly basis.
The star numbers run from 1 to 9 and each flying star number possesses auspicious or inauspicious meanings. In period 8, (2004 to 2024) the three luckiest star numbers are 8, 6 and 1 while the unlucky stars are 2, 3, 5 and 7. When the combination of the annual star and monthly star in a compass sector for a particular month is made up of the good stars (8, 6 and 1), the particular sector is said to be very auspicious and will bring lots of good luck to its occupant. But when the bad stars congregate in the same sector, it's important that you vacate the room for the month. If this cannot be done, you must install Feng Shui cures to suppress them or they will bring misfortunes of the most severe kind. However, you do not have to worry if the bad stars fly into a storeroom, toilet, garage or a missing corner because their negative effects are said to be contained and dissolved. The effect, whether good or bad, is lesser when the number appears alone.
Use a good compass to accurately determine the direction of your home. Then refer to the chart below to look out for afflicted sectors from year 2003 to 2013 and take the necessary steps to suppress the inauspicious stars or enhance the auspicious ones.

THE CHINESE ZODIAC ANIMALS, ALLIES AND SECRET FRIENDS

The Chinese Zodiac Horoscope has 12 animals starting with the rat and followed by the ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog and boar. Depending on the year you were born in, you will belong to one of those Zodiac animals. These animal signs are further divided into four major groups of three animals each believed to have affinity towards each other, complement each other well, with similar personalities and outlooks in life. The people born in the years of the same group are special friends and buddies that you can talk to and help you in times of need. They are your Allies. On top of that, each of the animal sign has one secret friend. A secret friend is someone you can always depend on, and will always be there by your side, to protect you and never let you down.
Place images of your Horoscope allies and secret friends in the sector corresponding to your sign to enhance your personal wealth luck. You may also activate the same sector with the intrinsic element of your Zodiac sign e.g. Earth for Dragon. You may display the enhancers according to big Tai Chi (house) or small Tai Chi (living room, bedroom, work desk etc.). You will also benefit by placing them in the sectors correspond to your allies, for example, if you are TIGER, you can place the enhancers in the sectors that belong to the HORSE of DOG. Wear or carry your Zodiac Sign and its Allies Amulet for maximum results. This Feng Shui remedy is recommended by many Feng Shui masters and will not disappoint you.
Your Zodiac animal, its allies and secret friend will ensure a smooth sailing and successful year ahead as you will always have your allies and secret friend to assist you whether it be at work, at school or in your business, during good or difficult times. If your horoscope reading says you will experience a tough year ahead, especially if you will be in direct conflict with the Grand Duke ( Tai Sui - see chart below ), you should take extra precautions of severe bad luck will fall on you for that year. Wear your allies and secret friend amulet for protection, to give you the strength to see through it, help you to overcome obstacles, and make the most out of it to reap maximum benefits. Your allies will also help you to keep friends loyal to you, preventing betrayal from acquaintances you thought were friends.
