FENG SHUI BAGUA FORMULA

In today’s world, there’s little we can do with macro level Feng Shui since it involves external landscape such as mountain formation and rivers. There is, however, an alternative that works out just effectively. Feng Shui experts believe that symbolism Feng Shui and five element cures are easy to apply and helpful in enhancing one’s life 8 aspirations namely wealth, career, love, fame, health, mentor, descendant and education luck. This school of study is called the Feng Shui Bagua Formula.

Feng Shui Bagua Formula is a popular Feng Shui stream that’s adopted and embraced by many Feng Shui experts and practitioners all over the world. This Feng Shui formula is linked with the secrets of bagua and the I-Ching theory. The Feng Shui Bagua Formula is claimed to have brought about unbelievable effects at an amazing speed by people who have applied it to their homes or offices.

The house or office can be divided into eight sectors. Based on Feng Shui Bagua Formula, each sector is governed by a Trigram in the Bagua; associated with certain element, number, color and shape, and represents different body parts, member of the family, and luck or aspiration.

North - The direction of north has the Kan kua and its element is water. Its aspiration is wisdom, career and employment luck and it belongs to the black tortoise. The person represented by this is the middle son. If a house doesn’t have a proper north sector, inmates may suffer from ear, kidney or prostate gland problems. The number related to this direction is 1, shape is wavy and color black or blue.

Southwest - The big earth element owns this direction which has the Kun kua. The person symbolized by kun is mother or mother-in-law. Linked to the matriarch, the southwest is said to influence love and romance luck. In the health segment, it rules over the stomach. The color of the southwest sector is brown, shape is square and number is 2.

East - The element of this sector is wood; this direction has the Chen kua which is directly linked to the first son. This means a house without a proper east sector will not have a son. Even if residents of such a house do have a boy child, he will be a weak child with several health issues. Chen is linked to the arms, legs, gallbladder and liver. Keeping a dragon in the east corner is an effective way to enhance the chi. East favors dark green and its shape is rectangle while number is 3.

Southeast - This is the home of Sun kua and is owned by the small wood. The eldest daughter is represented by this direction. Wealth and money fortune depends on the good feng shui of this direction. If inmates of the house have problems related to legs, spine or hipbones or conditions such as arthritis, it may be because of an afflicted or missing southeast sector. The shape of southeast is rectangle, color, light green while number is 4.

Northwest - This direction has the Chien kua and it is associated to the big metal element. The man of the family, the father or grandfather is represented by the Chien. While it represents the head of the family, its health segment also usually affects the head, bones or lung. A beam or sharp articles in the northwest corner may be the reason why frequent headaches or lung problems affect the head of the family. This direction’s aspiration is the benefactor luck or mentor luck. It’s important to check the northwest sector of the house because a house without a northwest corner will pose several problems to the men of the house; it may even be fatal. Such a house restricts men from entering the household so a single lady staying in a house without a NW sector will find it hard to find the right suitor. The color of northwest is metallic, silver or gold. Its shape is circle while number is 6.

West - This direction has Tui Kua and is controlled by small metal. It symbolizes the youngest lady in the house, be it daughter or wife. On one hand, it’s said to influence fertility related matters while on the other, it has health effects corresponding to the tongue, mouth, lung, throat and voice. The number of the West is 7, shape is circle while color can be white, gold or silver. The West is largely influenced by the tiger symbol. It governs descendant’s luck ; to luck to have children and grandchildren.

Northeast - This small earth element direction has the Ken kua; this stands for achievement in education. This corner governs academic and scholastic luck and would be ideal for a study room. It symbolizes hands and fingers. The color of this sector is yellow, shape square and number 8. It is associated with the youngest son in the family.

South - This direction is linked to the Li Kua and the fire element. The Phoenix is the ruling body of this direction which symbolizes the middle daughter. This is the governing direction for fame and family prestige luck. The Li kua identifies problems related to the eye or ear. The shape, color and number associated to this direction is triangle, red and 9 respectively.

So how can you use Feng Shui Bagua Formula to better your life? How can you activate and enhance your eight life’s aspirations with Feng Shui Bagua Formula?

You can increase the presence of the element belonging to the sector governing the life aspiration you wish to enhance. For instance, if you wish to boost your career aspiration, check out the sector linked to career luck, which is north. Its element is water. So, enhance its water element by placing a water feature in the north sector of your house. This should work to improve your career luck.

You do not have to limit yourself to the element each sector represents as you can activate a sector using the 5-elements Productive cycle theory. You can understand this theory better after you take a look at the 5-Elements productive cycle ;

  • Fire produces earth
  • Earth produces metal
  • Metal produces water
  • Water produces wood
  • Wood produces fire

This way, you can enhance the water element in the North by using metal element because metal produces water. Else, you can use the shape, Feng Shui color or number of each sector to add energy to the element of that sector. For instance, the fire element in the south can be boosted by filling the direction with the color red; this will enhance recognition luck. Bring in squarish objects in the Northeast to boost luck related to education and keep a metal wind chime with 6 rods in the Northwest corner to activate mentor luck.

Naturally, avoid using destructive element in the sector.

  • Fire destroys metal
  • Earth destroys water
  • Metal destroys wood
  • Water destroys fire
  • Wood destroys earth

Feng Shui experts have another technique to boost positive energy in the sector governing a particular luck; display auspicious Feng Shui symbols related to the direction in the particular sector to activate the positive energy. If, for instance, you want to improve your career luck, you can display a Ru Yi or Dragon Tortoise in the north sector; if you want to improve your health, keep a Wu Lou or Peaches of immortality in East. For romance, a pair of Rose Quartz Mandarin Ducks in the Southwest sector would work like magic!

So what are the apparent benefits of symbolism Feng Shui? It infuses positive thinking, increases focus and creativity, helps in self-motivation and ensures success through its constructive environment. All these qualities in turn will make us more open to our surroundings and enable us to absorb the positive energy from the modified chi. This way, our energy levels are boosted to help us make the best of every situation.

FENG SHUI KUA

For every person there are certain sectors or directions that are lucky and not lucky for them. To find out what these directions are you need to calculate your Feng Shui Kua number. Knowing your Kua number makes it possible for you to pay more attention on the directions that benefit you and otherwise so that you can make the necessary arrangement to your furniture and adjustment to your daily habits.

How to Calculate your Kua number?

You need your lunar birth year to calculate your Kua number. The lunar year usually starts around late January and early February so if your birthday falls some time around this period, consult a chart for your actual lunar year.

Add the last two digits of the LUNAR year you were born together, for instance if you were born in 1974 you add 7 and 4=11. Subsequently, add the digits that make up 11 again until it’s reduced to a single digit: 1+1=2.

Once you have that number, in this case 2, do the following computation based on your gender:

If you are Male, subtract your single digit from 10. 10-2=8. Your Kua number is 8.

If you are Female, then add 5 to your number. 5+2 = 7. Your Kua number is 7. Should the result is a two digits number, add up the digits again until it is reduced to one single digit. For example, calculation for a female born in the year 1954 would be: 5+4=9; 9+5=14; 1+4=5. 5 is her Kua number.

Please take notice that the Feng Shui Kua number runs from 1 to 9 without 5. So if your Kua is 5 from the calculation, your actual Kua is 2 for male, or 8 for female.

Having discovered your Kua number, you can now use it to determine your favorable or unfavorable directions, using the chart below. It is suggested that you always try to face your auspicious directions be it when you are eating, watching tv, working, having a meeting or studying. Sleep with your head pointing to one of these auspicious directions as well. Needless to say, avoid the inauspicious directions the best you can. With constant application of the Feng Shui Kua formula, you will notice significant improvement in your luck.

The Kua numbers are categorized into East group and West group.
Kua numbers 1, 3, 4 and 9 are people who belong to the East Group.
Kua numbers 2, 6, 7, and 8 are people who belong to the West Group

All East group people will benefit from facing and tapping the four East group directions – North, South, East and Southeast. Meanwhile those in the West group will benefit from West group directions - West, Northwest, Southwest and Northeast.

TAI SUI - GRAND DUKE JUPITER

Chinese astrology places great emphasis on appeasing TaiSui or Tai Shui, also called the Grand Duke of Jupiter. This is a terrifying body of energy that you do not want to offend. The Tai Sui takes up 15 degree of the compass.

A lot of importance is given to the Grand Duke Jupiter in Feng Shui. It’s important to identify his position each year in your home or workplace and make sure you don’t confront or aggravate him unknowingly. If the Grand Duke Jupiter is in direct or indirect conflict with your zodiac sign, make sure to have a protective amulet with you at all times.

Here are some Feng Shui tips and rules to observe so as not to incur the Tai Sui’s wrath and bring upon you bad luck:

  1. Make sure you don’t sit facing or sleep with your head pointing to the direction of the Grand Duke Jupiter.
  2. Find out the sector affected by the Grand Duke Jupiter and ensure no repair or renovation work is done in this sector – this includes hammering a tiny nail for your picture frame or drilling just one small hole.
  3. Setting up moving objects such as fish tanks or water fountains in the affected sector is a big no no.
  4. If it’s possible to move or shift out from the sector where the Grand Duke Jupiter resides, by all means do so.
  5. Appease him by placing a Feng Shui Pi Yao at once in the affected sector or just wear the Pi yao as an amulet.

The Pi Yao As Your Protective Amulet

The Pi Yao’s role in Feng Shui is a crucial one since the anger of the Grand Duke or Tai Sui can be appeased only by this creature. Chinese astrologers fear the great wrath of the Grand Duke since no human can challenge him and emerge successful. The consequences of the Grand Duke’s wrath are always serious; it includes loss of job, money-loss or failure in workplace. All this can happen even if you’d accidentally or unwittingly sat or slept facing the direction of the Grand Duke. If your job happens to be confrontational or involving tough competition, the effects of Tai Sui will be worse as your opponents will win with ease.

Placing the Pi Yao at home or in your workplace can help offset the threat of the Grand Duke Jupiter. Lillian Too, famous Feng Shui Grandmaster and author advises “It is a good idea to display the Pi Yao at home or in the office, especially if you are unsure of the direction of Grand Duke Jupiter, since he shifts direction each year.”

All of us have to keep moving about and sitting in different places while being engaged in our daily work. This may inadvertently make us confront the Grand Duke Jupiter many times a day and we may not even know it! If you’ve experienced situations when really bright ideas fail to get through, when there are unnecessary arguments in your workplace or you start to feel unwell just prior to an important appointment; this may be the reason. You may be sitting directly confronting the Grand Duke Jupiter!

You can overcome this problem by carrying a Pi Yao amulet. When you have this good luck charm, you can sit anywhere without having to fear the direction of the Grand Duke Jupiter. This acts as a protective armor that shields you against his wrath even if you’re sitting right facing his direction.

THREE KILLINGS

Do you feel you’re passing through a bad phase in life? Are accidents, financial losses or obstacles in your path of growth a constant fixture in your life this year? If the answer is yes, you could be under the influence of dreadful Three Killings or “San Sha” – a combination of three “Sha” namely the Year Sha, Robbery Sha and Disaster Sha. Impediments that set you back may be caused by the Year Sha; financial losses may be due to Robbery Sha and frequent accidents and mishaps could be because of the Disaster Sha.

The Three Killings can strike your house or office from any of the four directions according to the year. This phenomenon hits one direction of your residence or office every year.

It’s important to find out yearly if the Three Killings has hit a space that is used often; such as your entrance, bedroom or office area for instance. You can then mitigate the extent of damage caused by this occurrence by keeping a Feng Shui cure in place.

Popular Feng Shui cures, as advocated by Lillian Too, world’s famous Feng Shui grandmaster and bestselling Feng Shui author, are the Three Chi Lin, the 3 Divine Guardians or Celestial Guardians (made up of a Piyao, Chi Lin and Fu Dog) or a metallic Wind Chimes with Three Chi Lin in the affected corner of your room.

Take care not to undertake any repair or restoration work in the area that is affected. This could trigger off the harmful effects of the Three Killings energy and create more problems for the people in your house.

FLYING STAR FENG SHUI 2012

The yearly and monthly flying stars are believed to be the most powerful elements of Feng Shui. Each year the yearly star stays in once sector for that whole year and then moves to another sector in the following year. Monthly stars move on a monthly basis and these stars influence different circumstances in a person’s life. Some stars bring forth favorable circumstances while others are unfavorable. If a certain sector is made up of only good stars, it is believed that lots of luck is on its way to the occupant of that sector. When bad stars control the energies it spells the coming of misfortunes and its occupant should install Feng Shui cures and remedies to avoid them causing havoc in your life.

To assist you in creating and keeping balance in your life and avoid misfortune, it is important to understand which stars are good and which are bad and to activate the lucky stars and counter the ones bringing bad luck in 2012.

FLYING STARS 2012 & FENG SHUI CURES

#1 White Star - SOUTH - brings thriumph and success

The white Victory Star flies to the South and represents superlative mentor and career luck. Mentor luck brings influential and wise people into your life to help you to achieve your life’s aspirations. Look out for helpful people crossing your path. The #1 White star is a lucky star that is likely to assist you in attracting thriumphant moments and overcoming obstacles in the work place or victory over your competitors. Those ambitious young men engaged in competitive pursuits will highly benefit from this Star. Keep this sector energized by yang energy. It is the water element bringing victory and you can activate this auspicious star by placing a horse figurine which brings Yang energy, courage and endurance, a victory banner for thriumphant luck or a brass Dragon Tortoise for career success to your home or office in this sector.

#2 Illness Star –NORTH - brings sickness and illness

This star is an earth element and brings disease, sickness, health problems and even death in the Southern sector. House facing or sitting on North or with the maindoor located in the North sector will find that the occupants are more vulnerable to falling sick. It will mostly affect Rat-born people and the middle son. Avoid staying in this sector or room. Move to another bedroom. If that’s not possible, use Feng Shui cure to repress the negative energy flowing from this star. Suppress the illness energy of this star with an Eight Immortals Wu Lou tied with a red ribbon or a metal Wu Lou. Six-Rod Wind Chimes can also do the job. Also make sure you wear a Wu Lou pendant or carry a Wu Lou amulet.

#3 Hostile Star - SOUTHWEST - brings hostility and lawsuits

The Hostile star is situated in the Southwest and brings about verbal accusations and assaults, quarrels and law suits between family members, friends and colleagues. It is the wood element. It will affect mostly those born in the year of the Monkey or Sheep or the Mother. Them, and those sleeping in this sector will find themselves easily stressed and agitated, impatient and short-fused. Productivity will drop. Relationships between spouses will be affected with argument energies. Harmony of families and safety of marriages will be affected. Watch out for trouble with the authorities or you will be slapped with court case and litigation. Keep this part of the house quiet. Feng Shui cures for this star includes the Ksitigarbha’s Fireball, Ksitigarbha Staff and Flaming Magic Wheel. Place it in the Southwest sector. Carry a Red Dragon Amulet With Red Jewel Keychain or Flaming Magic Wheel Keychain with you for added protection, especially at workplace where you can’t display the cures. Remove water or wood energy from this sector.

#4 Romance Star - EAST - brings love and scholastic luck

The romance and literary star #4 is also a wood element flies into the East sector of your home. It is also often called the Peach Blossom Star. This star brings forth good luck on the romantic side of your life, as well as education and academic luck. The first son, Rabbit, Tiger or Dragon-born, and those single or unmarried residing in this corner will benefit greatly from this combination. Students residing in this sector will have better examination luck and better luck in their applications for admission into reputables schools or colleges. Sadly, the power of this auspicious star is dwindled by the Star of Reducing Energy brought by the 24 Mountain stars. Therefore, it's a good idea that you enhance its energy. Display of love symbols (mandarin ducks, double happiness symbol, dragon & phoenix or double carp) to solidify marriage luck and crystal (crystal points, crystal trees, crystal balls) or Wen Chang Pagoda to enhance academic luck. Strengthen its wood energy with water element. A water fountain such as the Double Dragon Water Feature is advisable too. It not too big and not too small. Do not use a water feature that's too big or it can turn the #4 ugly, bringing infidelity and cheating spouse.

#5 Yellow Misfortune Star - SOUTHEAST - brings misfortune and bad luck

This year, the yellow star or Wu Wang plagues the Southeast. It is a malicious star feared by all as it brings bad luck of all kinds. It is an earth element bringing with it financial loss, obstacles, tragedies, accidents, mishaps and anything else that is negative, depressing and bad. In 2012, this star blocks success and affects the first daughter in the family or those born in the year of Dragon or Snake. It is always a good idea to vacate the afflicted room and avoid any loud sounds in this sector coming from the TV or radio. Do not hold a party in this sector. Those affected will find themselves finding faults all the time and become really difficult to handle. You will feel down most of the time. The yellow #5 star can be cured by a Six-Rod Wind Chime. The Five Element Pagoda, Trinity Pagoda and the Luck Transforming Fan are all effective Feng Shui cures. Keep doors and windows closed and avoid any construction or renovation in this area. A Bejeweled Five Element Pagoda Feng Shui Pendant is also a good protection amulet for this vicious star.

#6 Heavenly Star - CENTER - brings good fortune

The Heavenly white star number six associated with the cosmic energies of heaven moves to the Center this year. It is a very favorable star of good luck straight from heaven. Be prepared for plenty of good heaven's celestial blessings if you spend a lot of time in this part of your house. People who gamble be it in lottery, horse racing, football betting or casino games will benefit from this auspicious star that brings cosmic chi that manifests into good fortune and windfall luck. Bring life to this star with Yang energy e.g. sound and activity in this corner and figurine of the dragons or horses. The Heavenly star’s element is metal so enhance with metal or earth (crystal) energy. This star also attracts power and authority luck. Carry a Bejewelled Dragon of Success Keychain.

#7 Violent Star - NORTHWEST - brings theft, burglary and violence

This unfavorable star hits the Northwest of your home/office and brings with it bad luck and tidings. It wreaked havoc the center location in 2011, bringing violence, blodshed and death in the middle east. It is a metal element associated with financial loss, robbery, theft, violence and injuries. Its negative chi gets strengthened further by the big metal energy of the NW sector so make absolute sure you suppress it. Watch your back during this period and be careful not to trust everyone. It especially affects the partriach of the family or the leaders of a company especially if your maindoor or room is located in Northwest, as well as those born in the year of Dog and Boar. Remedy this star with a pair of Blue Rhinoceros figurines on both sides of the doors to this sector. You could use the Blue Rhinoceros and Elephant figurine. These Feng Shui cures are strong protective symbols with water element that will weaken the metal energy of this Burglary Star. You may also hang a Blue Rhino Amulet, a Rhinocerous Keychain  or a Rhinoceros and Elephant Protection Amulet onto your handbag to protect against snatch thieves.

#8 Wealth Star - WEST - brings wealth luck and prosperity

The all-powerful Prosperity star for 2012 falls into West - which means the youngest daugher of the family will benefit from it. It is the star of fortune and good luck and brings with it lots of wealth luck and abundance. Those with Chinese Horoscope of Monkey, Rooster and Dog will benefit from it too. In the Dragon year 2012, its potency is magnified by the Yi Duo star brought by the 24 Mountain Stars. It is an earth element and can be activated with Feng Shui crystals. If your home has a living or family area in this sector, everyone in your home will be able to gain from this star especially the father figure. Display Feng Shui crystals everywhere to attract the best this star has to offer. Some suggestions are Bejeweled Power of 8 Charm Keychain, Crystal Trees, Star of David Crystal Balls and Crystal Mystic Knot Tassels. A Ru Yi here will serve to enhance career strength and authority luck. Try to leave the foor opened as much as possible.

#9 Future Prosperity Star - NORTHEAST

This Purple star is a fire element. It attracts wealth luck (especially through investment ) and good fortune especially to the youngest daughter. This Star also brings fame and recognition luck – the luck that propels you to be acknowledged and rewarded for your achievement and hard work. To enhance this Star, display nine glitter lamps or nine money frogs in this sector and keep this part of the house brightly lit. Use lots of red upholstery and decor here.
