Via PayPal, we gladly accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. We do not accept credit cards directly. We do accept Money Orders via snail mail.

NOTE REGARDING PAYPAL PAYMENTS: These days, protection is more important than ever. That’s why we only accept payments from verified accounts with confirmed addresses. Since your satisfaction and protection are our number one priority, we cannot make any exceptions. Likewise, we only ship to confirmed addresses. While requiring a confirmed address is a PayPal restriction, not one imposed by us, it has two important benefits:
- It allows us to continue to offer a great selection at even greater prices. PayPal requires a confirmed address before it will honor its seller protection policies. Not having that protection would inevitably mean higher prices for you.
- It helps ensure your purchases get to you safely. PayPal requires that all packages valued at $250 and up MUST be signed for. Considering the quality and high retail value of our merchandise, this is extremely important.

If you’re unable to pay us via PayPal, you can simply send us a Money Order or Cashiers Check via snail mail. With prior approval, you can also send direct bank transfers.
CHECKS: We don’t accept personal checks under any circumstances. This isn’t a reflection on you but, rather, the unfortunate reality of Florida banks placing an automatic ten-day hold on all out-of-state checks. Again, our goal is to continue to offer you the lowest possible prices and such a long lead-time on funds would definitely drive up your prices.
NON-PAYMENT OR LATE PAYMENT: Prompt payment is appreciated and benefits both of us. The faster we receive your payment, the sooner we can ship your item so you can start showing it off. Prompt payment also means we can continue to offer you the same outstanding selection and unbeatable prices you’ve come to expect from GemAffair.
Regardless of method, payment is on-time if received within 7 days of your winning bid. Because our success depends on volume and fast-turnaround, we have no choice but to return your reserved item to stock if payment is not received within 7 days.
As you’re probably aware, eBay has strict rules for both buyers and sellers, primarily to protect both parties. We comply with these policies 100% and ask that you do the same. eBay’s User Agreement clearly states that as the high bidder you’re expected to honor your bid and are obligated to complete the transaction. | Shipping |
All packages are shipped in a gift box ready for gift-wrapping. We use United States Post Office for most shipments. Priority Mail is our preferred method, but higher valued packages may be shipped via Registered Mail. Most overnight packages are processed the same day when payment is received by 9 a.m. Others will ship the next business day. See “International Shipping and Payment” below for details on how we ship outside the U.S.
Our convenient checkout automatically calculates real-time shipping charges based on weight and location. Domestic* Priority Mail starts at $6.85. Overnight starts at $22.50. We never charge additional shipping charges for multiple items. See below for International shipping charges. * Domestic includes the continental United States, Hawaii, Alaska and Puerto Rico, APO’s, FPO’s and most U.S. Possessions.
Domestic Shipping is calculated in real time shipping quotes. Simply enter your zip code and the shipping calculator will provide you with your shipping total(not including insurance) . Just look for the calculate shipping link directly in the auction.
International shipping is calculated in real time shipping quotes, Just look for the calculate shipping link directly in the auction. Simply enter your postal code (or country) and the shipping calculator will provide you with your shipping total including shipping and insurance charges. WE highly recommend using Bank Wire Transfers or Money Orders in U.S. Funds only.
SPECIAL NOTE REGARDING CUSTOMS AND DUTIES: GemAffair only sells new merchandise with the retail price tag still attached. You are responsible for any “importation fees” or “duty” your country may impose. For your convenience, we mark most International packages as “costume jewelry” with a declared value of $30.00 to help you avoid any possible duty. We also remove the retail tags on International shipments to save you from possibly being charged duties on the retail value versus the lower gift value or purchase price. Purchases over $300 must be declared at the full insured value/purchase price. For specific customs, duties and tariff information please contact the customs agency in your country.
SPECIAL NOTE REGARDING ORDERS SHIPPING TO CANADA: As a result of recent Canada customs and importation regulations that are being strictly enforced, all Canadian orders must be declared at their full purchase price. Combined Shipping Did you know you could save even more on your purchases? Just one more reason to love buying from GemAffair. Combine your purchases over five days into a single shipment and pay only one shipping charge!
When you win your first auction we establish an online shopping cart for you. You can continue to add items for up to five days after the first item was added to your cart by either winning additional auctions or selecting items from our store. eBay and PayPal limit the amount of time we can keep a particular shopping cart open to five days. At the end of the five days, you pay for everything in that cart. Our shopping cart will conveniently figure out your total including insurance and a single shipping charge. If items differ in shipping charges, the highest rate will apply. Still beats paying separate charges for each item
If you're buying multiple items, thank you-we sincerely appreciate your business. However, please take note of the following policies that pertain specifically to large orders. eBay is a retail environment and all terms, policies and procedures are geared towards that. We've established the following policies for large quantity orders after being burned numerous times, losing many thousands of dollars. These losses impact our ability to continue to offer such an outstanding selection at incredibly low prices.
1. Your initial credit limit will be $750.00. This total includes all applicable shipping, insurance and handling charges. This is the total amount owed for your combined auctions, buy-it-now items and store purchases. We'll periodically review your account for increases.
2. You'll be subject to all standard shopping cart rules. The latest you can pay for your items is 5 days after the FIRST item was added to your cart. There will be no exceptions. After 5 days, your cart will close and new purchases will be available in a new cart. There will be separate shipping, insurance and handling charges for each cart.
3. Wholesale orders will need to be paid for by USPS Postal MO, US Bank Cashiers Check or Bank Wire. We can NOT accept PayPal for larger combined orders. We are simply adhering to PayPal's seller protection policies. If you are unhappy with these policies, please contact PayPal directly at (http://www.paypal.com) or 1-888-221-1161.
4. ALL items MUST be paid in full within 7 days. There will be NO exceptions. |
| Insurance |
Insurance is required for all packages. Our convenient checkout system automatically calculates the insurance costs for you. Package value is based on your winning bid, not the retail price tag. When shipping multiple items together, the value is based on the total winning bids for all items.
- For the first $100 of package value, insurance cost is $2.20
- For every additional $100 of package value, there is an additional charge of $1.00.
For example:
- A package containing one item with a winning bid of $205 will have an insurance charge of $4.20.
- A package containing two items with winning bids of $305 plus $158, or a total of $463, will have an insurance charge of $6.20.
This insurance covers the initial shipment from us to you against damage during shipment or non-delivery. Please save any damaged shipping containers, as damage is only covered if extensive damage to the shipping container can be proven. |

GemAffair gladly offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee. That’s why we personally write every ad, going to great lengths to provide accurate, full-detail descriptions including sizes, weights, colors, clarity, cut and precise measurements. We typically provide two photos and, on the more elaborate and higher value items, as many as four. All of our gemstones are 100% natural unless otherwise stated in the auction, and that’s on very rare occasions.
Review our feedback and you’ll find that if we can be accused of anything, it’s being modest with our descriptions. We’ve successfully completed over 110,000 transactions on eBay with very few negative/neutral feedbacks. eBay has awarded us with their “Customer Satisfaction Certificate” in recognition of our outstanding feedback performance. We’re also one of eBay’s Tier-1 TITANIUM Powersellers, the highest possible recognition at eBay, requiring extremely stringent qualifications and making us one of the top 250 Powersellers.
We encourage questions and provide a direct link for e-mailing them to us. We’d much rather address any questions or concerns BEFORE you bid on or buy an item. GemAffair wants you to be madly in love with your purchase so you keep coming back. And tell your family. And all your friends. Maybe even complete strangers.
We realize that, despite our elaborate efforts to help you make the best possible selection, there may be times when you will not be 100% satisfied with your purchase for whatever reason. If that should happen, simply send an e-mail to sales@gemaffair.com within 3 days of receiving the item and tell us you’d like to return it. We’ll promptly issue you a Return Authorization (RA) number. We’ll also issue you a FULL refund LESS a 10% re-stocking fee or $10, whichever is greater. Return requests sent beyond 3 days are subject to a 25% re-stocking fee. This fee helps us ensure we can continue to offer you the best selection and keep your prices so incredibly low. Shipping fees are not refundable. An RA number is required for all returns.
In the unfortunate event you receive an item with a defect, we’ll be happy to repair it or replace it or refund your money at OUR discretion. If you receive the wrong item, we will replace it with the correct one or refund you your money at YOUR discretion. Simply notify us by e-mail immediately and follow the same return process as outlined in the above paragraph. As with all returns, an RA number will be required.

Special note for disputes regarding diamond color, clarity and carat weigh (the 3 C’s): We get our 3 C’s information directly from our manufacturers, suppliers and distributors. Though mistakes happen on rare occasions, we’ve never received incorrect information regarding the 3 C’s from our suppliers or manufacturers. In fact, they tend to be highly conservative as their reputation is at stake. Therefore, if you have a dispute regarding Carat, Color or Clarity, we can ONLY accept a GIA certificate as an accurate claim. We cannot accept a GIA appraisal, it must be a GIA certificate. If the certificate comes back more than 1 grade off, we’ll refund you in full for the purchase price, shipping, insurance and your GIA submission costs. We require a GIA Certificate because they’re the only non-profit unbiased certification company in the industry. |
| Non Payment |
(Failure to comply with auction terms) In accordance with Section #4 of the eBay user agreement, we do not under any circumstances cancel bids on auctions that have already ended - WITH NO EXCEPTIONS. This includes standard auctions, Buy-It-Now, 2nd Chances or eBay store items. As the eBay User Agreement explains, if you are the high bidder on any item, you are obligated (By law in most areas) to honor your bid and to complete the transaction. The Non-Paying Bidder Policy exists to help us enforce the eBay User Agreement with respect to non-paying bidders and for us to receive a partial refund of our seller fees in cases of non-payment. Your bid is a legally binding contract to purchase our merchandise under the terms of the auction. With prior approval and at our discretion we may offer to allow you out of this contract if we are reimbursed all seller fees and our restocking fees (Restocking fees are equal to the greater of $10.00 or 10% of the bid amount). Our policy for payment as stated in our auctions and on our policies page, is that payment is due in full no later than 7 days after the auction has ended. After the 7th day we reserve the right to consider the sale null and subsequent payments will have the above policy applied to them. | |
