Ravensburger Jigsaw Puzzles
Ravensburger was a large publishing company founded in 1883 by Otto Robert Maier in Ravensburger Germany. Originally publishing books and other types of periodicals it was not until 1964 that they started to produce jigsaw puzzles. The puzzles are now distributed in the US by a sub company of theirs called FX Schmid and are also available in 50 other countries as well.
Ravensburger is most famous here in the US for their lavish large scale puzzles of 3,000 pieces and up and their beatiful designs. In Europe Ravensburger is much bigger than they are in the US, owning exclusive rights to Disney and other poular franchise licences.
