You
will see many different varaitions, but below is the correct
way to repair the ball mark:
1.
Use a divot repair tool to fix the divot left from the ball.
2.
Discard the loose piece of turf taken out by the ball., for
the turf will die and delay the healing process.
3.
Insert the repair tool at the edge of the ball mark. The prongs
should be at a 45 degree angle. Gently work the turf up and
back into place by gently pushing up and forward. Do not insert
the tool within the depression itself or underneath the indented
area. These actions will expose the soil and damage the root
system. Also, don't insert the repair tool and twist it. This
only breaks more turf loose.
4.
Gently tap down the repaired area with your putter.
5.
Time permitting, you should repair at least one additional
ball mark. Your fellow golfers will appreciate it. |
