Shipping & Handling Policies
We understand the need to provide affordable shipping to our customers, as green wood turning blanks are heavy and can be quite costly to ship...we want you to give you quality wood at a fair, affordable price! Following is a list of our policies concerning shipping and handling, and an explanation of how you can save yourself money in the long run:
- Packaging
- We never charge packaging fees to our customers.
- We use post office-supplied flate rate boxes and envelopes in many instances, and the remainder of our items are packaged in undamaged re-used boxes.
- Filler material is usually newspaper, but with larger and higher quality items we often substitute bubble wrap or padded air pouches for additional protection.
- Handling
- We never charge handling fees to our customers.
- Insurance
- All purchases which are shipped via USPS have the option of adding insurance coverage for a small additional fee.
- All purchases which are shipped via UPS include insurance coverage for up to $100.
- Please take note...if you decide not to cover your package with insurance protection, we will provide you with full shipper tracking information in order to help you know where your package is at, but we will not be held responsible for replacing lost and damaged shipments that are uninsured.
- Invoicing and Payment
- Please allow us time to send you an invoice before making payment, especially when you have won multiple auctions. Many of our customers pay without allowing us to calculate shipping, and end up spending too much money.
- Shipping
- Packages will be sent out within two business days of having received payment. The majority of the time the package will be sent out the same day!
- And...last but most certainly not least...how to save on shipping costs!!
- Look for flat-rate style auctions! These auctions cram the most wood into a package that can be shipped for either $4.05 (envelopes) or $8.10 (boxes). If you live on the west coast, this is the best option as shipping costs from here in South Carolina can be quite expensive.
- Know what other larger items can be shipped in a flat rate box. One style of flat rate box can hold a blank up to 12" round by 3 3/8" thick, the other can hold a blank up to 8 1/2" round x 5 1/2" thick! If you see a larger blank, and the shipping charge seems a little high, keep in mind that it may fit into a flat rate box and ship for less!
- The more blanks that you buy, the cheaper the shipping for each blank! The cost per pound to ship decreases greatly as the weight of the package increases, therefore making the cost to ship each blank drop as well.
- Local pickup is always available. We are located just off of Highway 25 in upstate SC, nestled in the middle of Anderson, Greenwood, and Greenville. If you would prefer to pick up your blanks, please call in advance to let us know that you are coming...(864) 378-5200 or (864) 723-2765.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to call using the numbers directly above, or email us at mike0922@wctel.net.
Thanks! Brad & Mike
