However, if you are a do-it-yourself kind of person, just read the way Auburn suggests to measure for your new bags below:

Height x Length x Depth
Two length measurements are always given:
First is the horizontal length across the top back where bag
will sit against the strut. In the measurment symbol ( ) is the
horizontal length across the widest point of the back.

ALL BIKES ARE DIFFERENT, PLEASE USE THIS AS A REFERENCE ONLY.
Proper measurements re required for fitting saddlebags are as follows: (bags
are measured from the back of the bag)
1. Measure side to side, from the back of the seat (riders position) to the back
of the turn signal, and compare that width to the desired saddlebag, this
measurement should be greater than the bag width.
2. Measurement from top to bottom, use the bottom of the seat pad to the top
of the exhaust pipe as a reference, and allow no-less than 1" more than the
height of the desired saddlebag for clearence.
3. Saddlebag supports are strongly recommended , when available, for your
make and model of bike (consult your dealer for availability).
4. Check saddlebags fully loaded, to ensure that contact with the wheel and
exhaust components will NOT occur at any time.
5. Do Not Overload saddlebags, recommended maximum weight per bag/side
is 10 Lbs.
