AC Adapter (Power)
Plug the AC Adapter into a “power outlet” near your TV. Then plug the cord into the back of the Transmitter / Charger where you see 12V. Set the Transmitter / Charger on a flat surface near or on the TV at least 4ft. to 5ft. off the ground. Move the Transmitter / Charger as far forward as possible. Always leave the Transmitter / Charger plugged into your power outlet.
Audio (Installation Options)
Option 1
Use the 72” Audio Cord if the TV has audio OUT ports on the BACK of the TV. Plug the red and black plugs into the OUT ports on the BACK of the TV and the other end into the back of the Transmitter / Charger where you will see Audio. Note: The Audio Cord may also be used with cable boxes, satellite, or stereo receivers, but you may need help from our technical staff.
Option 2
Use the Multi-Use Power Microphone if the TV does not have audio OUT ports on the back of the TV. Velcro the Power Microphone in the center of one of the TV’s speakers and plug it into the back of the Transmitter / Charger where you see Audio. Set the TV volume to normal for others in the room and then set your TV Ears volume as high as needed.
Option 3
Headphone Jack Adapter - If the TV has a headphone jack in the front of the TV plug the Headphone Jack Adapter into the jack and then Plug the 72” audio cord (red or black) into the Headphone Jack Adapter and the other end into the back of the Transmitter / Charger where you will see Audio. NOTE: In most cases when using the headphone jack in the front of the TV the TV’s sound will not be available to others in the room to hear.
Option 4
72” Audio Cord - Most VCR’s have Audio OUT ports but you must change TV channels using the VCR for the TV Ears to work correctly. You will need to set your TV on channel 3 or 4 to use this option. Refer to your owner’s manual that came with your VCR to use this function.
Infrared Listening System - Be sure not to obstruct the path of infrared light between the headset and the transmitter. Also, infrared does not travel through walls.
Multi-Use Power Microphone benefits
The Multi-Use Power Microphone allows you to attach TV Ears quickly and easily to any television with or without audio OUT ports or if the rear of your TV is difficult to access. It's also perfect for traveling and using TV Ears away from home. Most hotel televisions do not have audio OUT ports, thus requiring a Multi-Use Power Microphone.
The Multi-Use Power Microphone takes less than one minute to install on any TV or audio device by plugging it into the back of the TV Ears Transmitter / Charger where it says Audio, and placing the microphone near the external TV speaker. The microphone picks up the sound, which is then relayed to the TV Ears Headset.
Headphone Jack Adapter
Use your TV Ears Headset to enjoy wireless audio from other devices, including computers, portable CD players, cassette players, and some televisions. The TV Ears Headphone Jack Adapter allows you to use your wireless Headset with many audio devices.
Plasma TV Interference Solution
Some Plasma TV's may cause interference with the use of TV Ears. A simple solution is to move the Transmitter / Charger as far to the side of your Plasma TV as the cords allow. This will pass the signal around the Plasma interference. Click Here for more detailed information and additional solutions.
