JANUARY, 2006 BOOKLOVERS NEWSLETTER
Whoa, was I ever behind in writing a monthly newsletter. My resolution for 2006 is to do this monthly. Thanks to all our wonderful readers who purchased during the holiday season. It was a wonderful time. I've had a request from a frequent customer to feature Exploration and Travel books. So, that's my theme. The world is small now, but it wasn't always so and we had to rely on folks traveling about the globe with a camera or with tales to tell to allow our imaginations to take hold and wander. And, for some of us, we still travel more in our dreams than in real life. Luckily, folks travelled the world bringing us back photos and stories that to this day can bring us closer and closer to having been there. Moreover, if we take a look at these old books, we are able to learn a different perspective and a bit of history at the same time.
Also, don't forget to read down to the end where we are pleased to announce our January Sale.
The Emerging Countries of Africa In 1960, many countries in Africa were recognized and given statehood and independence by the United Nations. The French Embassy published several hard to find brochures on these countries. I've sold several of these, but I have a few left. They are chock full of facts, a bio of the first leader, and photos.

A Woman Travels the World
It wasn't unusual for a woman to travel the world, whether in pairs, groups, or singly. Helen Bridgman took on the world in 1925. And, folks thought liberation started in the sixties.
Happy sailing around the world!
