We also sell gemological equipment, such as refractometers, loupes, Chelsea filters, dichroscopes, spectrometers and spectroscopes.

Founded in 1997, Igem.com was started as online fine jewelry, watches, jewelry supplies and electronic testing equipment for the jewelry industry. Facing fast growing interest in electronic jewelry testing equipment, among a very wide customer base, Igem Instruments currently focuses exclusively on testing and other advanced technology equipment for jewelry professionals, private and governenment facilities engaged in jewelry testing and jewelry hobbyists.

We receive our products direct from the manufacturers or their authorized distribution channels, so our customers is always sure they receive authentic, factory fresh merchandise, backed by manufacturer's warranty at the best possible price.

After winning an auction or choosing a Buy It Now purchase, you have 2 check-out options:

Select Check-Out Now! to immediately proceed with the checkout and payment process. You will be able to complete your payment and finalize your purchase without waiting for an email confirmation from eBay. Select Checkout only after winning an auction item or completing a 'Buy It Now' purchase.

Check-Out Later: If you do not choose to Check-Out now, you will be notified by eBay via e-mail that you are the winning bidder. There is no need to contact us to arrange payment. We will automatically send you an e-mail within three hours of an auction closing. Our message will contain a link to our simple and secure checkout system, where you will be able to quickly and conveniently pay for your purchase.

Our secure checkout will give you the choice to pay via PayPal, Credit Card, Money Order or personal / company check. Please note that paying by personal or company check will delay shipment of your order until check clears the bank.

Please be sure to include your auction number and your shipping address when submitting payment by mail. Payment is expected within 5 days of auction closing.

Payments are processed in the order in which they are received in our shipping department - most often the day AFTER payment clears. Shipping occurs Monday through Friday excluding all holidays. Frequently, your shipment will go out the day after your payment is received, but will always be processed within 2 business days.

The shipping options made available to you will depend on your shipping address, and are explained in each auction description. Additional shipping options may be available during checkout.

We currently offer the following shipping methods:

Standard Domestic Shipping (3 - 7 Business Day Service): We choose the optimal shipping service, usually Priority Mail or UPS Ground Service , based on your location, weight and value of your purchase. Some small items of low value may be shipped by U.S. Postal Service First Class Mail.

Express Mail (1 - 2 Business Day Service): This service is currently provided by U.S. Postal Service. Tracking is provided for this service as well as insurance up to $100. Additional insurance coverage is available during checkout.

**Important Note: All packages including Express services are shipped within 1-2 business days of your cleared payment. (IE: A payment made on Thursday morning for Overnight Service will get processed on Friday for overnight delivery on Monday.)

If you are shipping to AK, HI we will only use U.S. Postal Service as a shipper, please do not use UPS, FedEx or any other private shipper (if offered) during checkout.

SHIPPING / HANDLING RATES:
You can find an item's specific shipping options and rates by viewing the information under shipping terms on that item's auction or Buy It Now listing.

US Shipping Terms:
We will make every attempt to ship all items within 2 business days of cleared payment. All Express shipments include insurance up to $100 - additional insurance is calculated during checkout. We insure all packages in transit to eliminate non-delivery issues and complaints. Your cooperation is required in case item is lost or damaged in transit. Never throw away packaging and report damage to us immediately, if your order arrived damaged.

Combined Shipping Offer:
YES - We offer a combined shipping discount to our customers. Upon winning more than one auction, you will automatically receive a shipping discount on each additional item that is paid for and shipped together.
PLEASE NOTE: To take advantage of our Combined Shipping offer you must use our Checkout payment system ONLY after all auction have been completed, and you pay for all of your winning items together using our Checkout payment system.

International Shipping:
We offer International Shipping on most of our items to a large number of countries. However, due to contractual agreements with our suppliers and shippers and power supply requirements, there are some items that we ship inside the USA only or only to destinations in U.S. and Canada. Check the specific item listing under shipping terms to find out whether that item can be shipped internationally. If it cannot be shipped out of the USA, please do not ask us to make an exception. All International packages are thoroughly inspected prior to shipment to ensure product accuracy and condition. Returns are NOT permitted on International shipments.

LIST OF COUNTRIES
These are the ONLY countries that we ship to:

** Pre-payment by credit card using BidPay service or by wire transfer is required for items to be shipped to those locations **

For shipments to New Jersey addresses, we are required by State law to collect 7% New Jersey State Sale Tax.

If you are not satisfied with item(s) purchased from iGem Instruments, you may return your unused item(s) in original condition for a refund within 14 days after obtaining a Return Merchandise Authorization or RMA. Absolutely no returns will be accepted for any reason after the 14-day period.

Non-defective items returned to us in less than 100% original condition or with anything missing (paperwork, warranty cards, accessories or any other included items) from the returned item or modified (broken accessories, filled out warranty cards, etc. ) will be subject to a Restocking fee of up to 35%.
