Q: Why does my drive not show up under “My Computer”?

A: Be sure to go to disk management (PC) or Disk Utilities(Mac) and partition/format your drive.

 

Q: My drive shows up as 8GB, how do I fix that?

A: Be sure to reset the enclosure if you ever change anything or are installing for the first time. Follow the steps below for resetting instructions: (Important, be sure to follow each step word for word)

 

 Q: How do you reset the enclosure?

A: In order to reset the enclosure please follow the following steps:

Before plugging in the USB cable and Before powering on the device

Hold down the reset button

While the reset button is held down, Power on the device

Keep the reset button down for 10 seconds

Plug in the USB cable

From there, you may have to format and partition the drive through disk management / disk utilities

 

Q: I installed my drives into the enclosure and I am on Raid 1 (protect). Only one drive shows up, how come the other does not show up? 

A: Under Raid 1 (Protect), the enclosure actually copies any file you copy onto the first drive to the other drive at the same time. Because this is essentially a mirror of one drive, the other drive will not show up.

 

Q: Under Raid 1 (protect), How will I know if my files are indeed getting copied onto the other drive? 

A: The only way to physically check if the files are being copied is to remove the drive and check the drive individually.
