Instructions on How-To connect Axxess HD/iPOD package to XM equipped vehicles
To avoid too much confusion, we have pre-wired up the relay for you to use your XM tuner with this interface. Please check the product page for your factory XM tuner location. You might need to remove a panel or two to access the needed wires on the XM tuner.
Please note: Before working on your car it is always best to disconnect the negative terminal. This will prevent a accidental short circuit.
There is a RED and YELLOW wire coming off of the black Relay (All taped up). These wires will be used to allow you to keep your XM tuner active. They will connect at your XM tuner. Locate your XM tuner (Location varies, check on the product listing page or e-mail us at sales@integrationsolutions.net you may have to remove some panels to get to the tuner) and find the 12 volt power wire, usually RED (This wire will be the biggest on the wire harness - use a meter to test if for this). This will be coming out of the XM tuner in a harness.
After you have identified this wire you will need to cut it (In half) approximately 6 inches away from your tuner. At this point you will connect the YELLOW wire coming off of the relay pack to the side going to the XM tuner. You will connect the RED wire coming off of the wire relay pack to the side going away from the XM tuner. We have included two T-Taps for you to easily connect to these wires, and have put the male connectors for the t-taps on the 2 wires. To use the t-tap: simply close the tap tap around the wire you want to tap into and then slide the male connector on the yellow or red wire into that tap.
