|  | | Hello, My name is Joseph Spinale, and together with my wife Ellen, we have been creating our line of18th and19th century reproduction furniture. After 20 years I can say its good to work with your best friend! We love the smell of our sawdust laden shop, cough, cough. We start from scratch with pine. Much of early American and farmhouse products were made from this wood, it also hand planes perfectly. There is alot of commercial work available today,but if you are looking for artisan workbench quality,your at the right place.Our Americana creations are truly authentic, with hand chipped paint off of the corners and latches, it produces a historic timeworn look. Our handmade cupboards even feel old. The texture is where we really pride ourselves, where the paint has been distressd off, it reveals old looking patina. It creates depth, which tells a story of years of paint layering. There are subtle amounts of surface fluctuations, with tiny nicks, and dinks that pull it all together. There is a balance of beautiful color and age.Check out my other items! | | | |
| All our drawers are dovetailed,with raised panel bottoms.Nailheads are slightly countersunk and square. Most of our pieces have reproduction hardware, and you can always add it . We also have a much more rustic primitive finish too, for the true believer. On these pieces we remove almost all of the paint, except from corners and crevices. At the time of writing this letter, we have a few in our ebay store. We have 13 painted distressed colors to choose from, and 5 stain colors for our pine farm tables, which are pegged mortise and tennon construction. The tops are handplaned and have depth and richness! Our tables have a slightly satin sheen. Our painted pieces area flat finish. There is nothing worse than a shiny appearance on historic work.Some of our cabinets are of a more formal construction, lending them more of a Williamsburg look, especially our entertainment centers. Almost all of our cabinets can be turned into wonderful tv cupboards. Artisanship takes takes alot of time, but in the end, its worth it. Thank you Joseph Spinale. We have an excellent shipper,who does a great job of packing up your piece in a large thick corrugated carton,peanuts,bubble wraps then puts your piece on a pallet,fully insures it,generally about 9 days from once they receive it,untill you get it,after they have called you first,and they are polite!.Everyone has been so impressed with the packing! I have seen cheap shipping quotes out there,but if it arrives damaged,whats the point! We have a DHL type for smaller pieces,which are packed in thick corrugated box,bubble wrapped,and peanuts too.The insurance is included in the shipping price.The buyer pays for the shipping and insurance.We have PayPal.On custom orders we pride ourselves on finishing your order in a timely manner in the time frame stated. Feel free to contact me with any or many questions, all the details are important,like which side of the door gets the hinges,you may not want the door to open into a corner,or the tv measurements,was ventilation considered,wire holes through the back?
