THE APPEAL OF JANIE AND JACK

Kids clothes are kids clothes...right? Not when you're talking about the line of clothing known as Janie and Jack. This is a brand that has been designed for long wear, good looks, and optimal quality.

It all begins with their different "lines". For example, the summer lines for boys ages zero to twelve include themes such as "World Traveler" or "Yacht Party" for girls. These lines make it super-easy for a parent to quickly select a nice range of individual garments that easily "mix and match".

Consider how convenient that might be when putting together a child's seasonal wardrobe. There are tops, bottoms, jackets, sweaters, and a wide array of accessories that are guaranteed to partner up beautifully. The great thing about the Janie and Jack garments is that they are also meant to be worn for more than just that single season. This is because the sizing on the garments is very generous and can usually work with a child (even one that is growing like a weed) over the course of a full year or two. So, the "clam digger" pants that hit mid-calf during the previous summer might be at the knee the following spring, but the general cut of the garment will ensure that they still fit comfortably.

Naturally, a garment meant to be worn by a child for more than a single season or year is going to have to be constructed of some very durable materials. This too is a benefit of purchasing from the Janie and Jack lines. This is because the materials tend to be natural and unprocessed, meaning that they will hold up to a lot more wear and tear than garments made from thinner, cheaper, and less substantial fabrics.

The construction of the garments is also a serious benefit too. Not only are seams and hems made to last through lots of washings and wearings, but even such things as patterns are meant to be extremely durable as well. For instance, shirts and fabrics are rarely silkscreened with their motifs, and instead are either embroidered or woven with their designs.

So, that pretty three-quarter sleeve top with the pink and red tulips will be embroidered and capable of handling all kinds of wear and cleaning without fading or losing the adorable little floral details.

It is interesting to note that the Janie and Jack line is actually a subsidiary of the famous Gymboree chain of stores. This is a company that specializes in remarkably high-quality children's clothing that is designed especially for active little people. They have translated this sort of rugged capability into the different garments from the Janie and Jack, but also incorporated a much trendier overall design or look to the clothing. Instead of being very durable and attractive, but a bit basic and plain, the garments from this line of clothing are always very trendy, colorful, and designed to match the most progressive adult fashions of the day.

This means that the fashion conscious parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles of the world can now be sure to outfit even the youngest members of their family in good-looking clothes that are sure to always wear well.
