The Larz Anderson Auto Museum is home to "America’s Oldest Car Collection." First opened to the public in 1927, the museum is a warm and special place that holds one of the oldest and most respected private automobile collections in the world. For over 85 years, the Museum has been supporting the community through a variety of educational programs, exhibits, lectures and exciting lawn events featuring vintage automobiles of all kinds.

Each year, through changing exhibits the museum embarks on a journey to present a unique view of the automobile and how it has transformed the way we live, highlighting the evolution of the car from rich man’s toy to everyday necessity, along with its myriad purposes and variations.

Today, the museum's primary goal is the presentation and preservation of various collections in our care, including our permanent collection of early automobiles assembled by Larz and Isabel Anderson, presented in the magnificent 1888 Anderson carriage house.

The museum gift shop has automobilia ranging from toy motorcycles and car kits to one of a kind vintage automobile literature. Through our online gift shop we have expanded our presence to better provide this rare literature to people near and far.  The online gift shop is directly connected to the museum gift shop and all proceeds support the museum and our continuing goal of preserving automotive history.
