 | Q: SALT REMOVER??? How does that work? |
 |
 | A: If you think salt is hard on metal imagine what it does to leather, glue and stitching.
Apply some liberally to a cloth then rub the salt away. The longer you let the salt remain on your shoes, boots, etc. the more permanent damage is being done. Remove it in a timely manner or like rust on a car...you are now looking at PATCH or GOO or the dump. |
 | Q: What's the difference between a glue and GOO or patch? |
 |
 | A: GOO or shoe PATCH is a sealant. Like duct tape it can have many uses. great at home, in the glove compartment or on trips. It can patch a hole in your shoe or...a thin coat, frequently applied to the toes or heels prevent wear. It's waterproof and long lasting but not always permanent. |
 | Q: When and how do I use the glue? |
 |
 | A: We carry BARGE and MASTERS glue. Both are terrific and ideal for permanently attaching a sole to the upper. We suggest you start with a clean, dry surface....apply a thin coat of glue to both surfaces. Wait about 20 minutes for the glue to get tacky. Then apply pressure and you have a waterproof, flexible bond. If you're in a hurry use a hairdryer. |
 | Q: How do I attach the heel plates? |
 |
 | A: There is more then one way. We send you special nails. You can slip the shoe or boot over something resembling a fence post to brace the boot while you hammer the nails.
Another common way is to use a staple gun instead of nails. |
