Product Specifications

Input Specifications
The input specifications describe the type and amount of power that the adapter will take in from either the AC wall outlet of the car lighter plug. This is not what is sent to the computer. AC adapters will accept a range of input voltages. This is typically 100-240V AC for worldwide use. Car or DC adapters will also accept a range of voltages that are typically between 10-15V DC. These specs are not critical and may slightly vary from your original adapter. They basically tell you that you can plug the adapters into a standard wall outlet or lighter outlet.

Output Specifications
These specifications describe the electrical power that is made available to your device. One very important thing to understand about laptops and other electronic devices is that they do not always consume power at the same rate. Things like spinning up your CD drive or changing your screen brightness can dramatically change the demand on the power adapter. To work properly with this variable demand, power adapters are designed with a fixed voltage and variable Amps/Watts. The actual values for Amps/Watts are set by the demand of your device and will never exceed the demand of the device. If you have a laptop that demands 4A at 19V and connect it to a power adapter that is capable of producing a million amps at 19V it will work fine because the actual values for amps/watts will be set by the laptop and not by the adapter. The output specifications on power adapters are written with a set voltage and an Amps/Watts rating that is stated as "max". This indicates that the adapter is set to a fixed voltage and can produce from zero to the maximum Amp/Watt rating based upon the demand of the device. The voltage output has a tolerance of +/- 1V. This means that when an adapter is set for 19V, it can cover 18-20V applications.

Battery Ratings
The primary ratings for batteries are nominal voltage and capacity. The battery's voltage rating is based upon the average rating of the battery cells along with the way in which they are connected. Typical battery voltages for laptops are 10.8/11.1V for 6/ 9/12 cell batteries or 14.4/14.8V for 4/8/12 cell batteries. For laptop models with multiple battery options, it is possible that the laptop can use batteries with different voltages. In these models, the laptop was designed for multiple batteries and will adjust itself accordingly. The second battery rating is for capacity. This rating describes how much energy that the battery can produce over a given time. The most common unit of measure is milliamp hours (mAh). This unit is equal to 1/1000th of an Amp for 1 hour. So if a battery was rated to produce 1000mAh, it could run a 1A (1000mA) device for one hour. If the device used only 1/2A (500mA), it would run for two hours. When comparing two batteries with the same voltage, you can compare the mAh ratings to determine the capacity of the battery. If a battery has double the mAh rating, it will run your device twice as long.

About Our Products
The majority of our products are 100% compatible replacement products that meet or exceed the specifications of the original parts. Our products come directly from the factories and other reliable sources. For some products where an aftermarket replacement is not available, we will sell manufacturer original products. All such products will specifically be identified as "Original" within the auction description. All of our products are 100% brand new. Most items are shipped in bulk packaging (bubble wrap or plain box) to save the unnecessary cost of retail packaging.
